D-Wars (2007)

Korean Title: 디워

Godzilla claimed New York City, which now leaves Los Angeles to be decimated by an ancient Korean dragon of legend. D-Wars (or Dragon Wars) is director Shim Hyung Rae’s (심형래) most anticipated film and is reportedly the biggest budgeted South Korean film to date. It opened in Korean cinemas on August 1st, 2007 selling a whopping 5 million tickets under two weeks. The entire movie’s visual effects were completed with Korean CG technology. Despite it being a Korean film, it stars an all American cast… hmmm.

Plot:
Ethan discovers he is the reincarnated spirit of an ancient warrior apprentice, Haram, who once saves his love, Narin, from Buraki, a malicious serpent, 500 years ago. Buraki has now materialized in modern day Los Angeles, thus Ethan must find the reincarnated form of Narin and together defeat the monster once and for all.
