Korean title: Dae Jang-geum (대장금)
This is the wildly popular period drama that had drama addicts all over the world hooked to the boob tube. Shown in Iran, China, Taiwan, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Japan, Brunei, Singapore, Philippines, Thailand, Australia, the US and Canada (phew!), this epic drama made a star out of its lead actress Lee Young-ae (이영애).
I caught the 3rd and 4th episode last night. Whoo hoo, the drama is oh-so-promising! Currently, we are following the adventures of Jang-geum as a wee little lass (played by Jo Jung-eun).
Isn’t the actress playing young Jang-geum adorable? I just wanna cuddle her and take her home…mini-hanbok and all.
The drama, so far, has intrigue and heart, and I hope I’m disciplined enough to tune in every weekend to watch the story unfold.
Epic drama that is loosely based on the historical figure depicted in the Annals of the Joseon Dynasty. Jang-geum (Lee Young-ae) was the first female royal physician during Korea’s Joseon Dynasty.
