Red Carpet pics : Speed Racer World Premiere

The high-octane family adventure “Speed Racer” premiered on the 26 April, 2008 at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles. The movie is highly anticipated by many as it is from the Wachowski Brothers and producer Joel Silver, creators of “The Matrix” trilogy.

In one of the interviews conducted by Rain (real name Jung Ji-hoon) to promote the movie he mentioned that the Speed Racer cast was like family to him. But amongst them, he is closest to Susan Sarandon and Matthew Fox.

Is anyone missing from the red carpet photos above? Well, i noticed that there are no photos of the Wachowski Brothers. I am sure they attended the premiere! After a bit of searching, i found this article on Yahoo! News: Reclusive Wachowskis hide at the Speed Racer premiere

wow! that looks so awesome! actually rain looks quite dashing here…well based on his prior appearance at that other speed racer promotion event. and that’s really nice to hear the cast is like family and that he’s close with mom racer and racer x.

i feel like emile hirsch is followin’ rain with the long hair. well maybe he’s just growing it out for his next role. but it’s nice to think that emile is “jockin” rain’s hairstyle. also it seems like emile and christina ricci have the same hairstyle too.

ooh! and i remember christian oliver! he used to be on saved by the bell the new class. he’s very handsome. but if anyone tops the handsome scale it’s gotta be matthew fox. ::sigh:: he’s so dreamy.

@fraulein: i think susan sarandon and tim robbins are still going strong. they’re one of those rare hollywood couples that are still together.

after further research, it looks like rain is number 2 in the time poll following shigeru miyamoto, he does something with nintendo and stuff.

sorry i don’t mean to double comment and all but after massive research i found info that Rain WILL be on The Colbert Report! Plus this blog entry has his whole flight itinerary. That’s pretty intense and stalker-ish. Check it out here if anyone is interested! Thanks for mentioning it kpop-rubba!

Maybe the taping is today, the 28th, and it’ll air tomorrow the 29th in the states? This is exciting! Rain should’ve gone to the Asian Excellence Awards too! Se7en went!

Bi has looked horrible since Feb 2008. It’s not just the weight loss. It is the whole look…. it’s totally yuck. What happened to the hot guy I fell in love with?

A friend’s friend was at the ImaginAsian event on 25 April. She said most people around her fell asleep.

this is probably the ugliest looking cast i’ve ever seen so far in my life.. i have less expectations on the movie. it feels like it’s going to be another roger rabbit or dr seuss’ cat in the hat

Rain is doing well with his English. Check out this video clip of the Speed Racer premier in London. He spoke to the British reporters in English. He held his own. Way to go Bi!
