Actress Choi Jin-sil commits suicide too?

The 40-year-old actress was found dead by her mother at 6.15am today (Oct 2).

One end of an elastic band was tied to the shower stall, the other was looped around her neck.

While no suicide note was found, police are looking into the speculation that Choi Jin-sil‘s death is related to the late Ahn Jae-hwan’s suicide on Sept 8.

Apparently, the Last Scandal actress lent a large sum of money to Ahn, who also took his own life because of mounting debt.

However, Choi reported the rumours to the police, calling them groundless.

This week, police investigations led to the arrest of a securities company employee for spreading the rumour that Choi lent Ahn US$2mil.

Unfortunately, that did not settle the issue. Yesterday, the actress could not concentrate on work and called it a day after a couple of hours.

Her co-star Sohn Hyun-joo said: “From the moment she came onto the set, she looked very weary. Her face looked really bad and she found it difficult to continue and had to stop after two hours.”

Choi married pro baseball player Cho Sung-min (pic, below) in 2000 but their union ended in divorce in 2004. She leaves behind two children.

    That is terrible…I can’t imagine Cho jin sil committing suicide because of the rumors….and I can’t imagine her lending Ahn Jae ahn that money…i mean thats crazy….I can’t imagine how she felt…she probably thought about it long and hard because of her two children..that is so terrible…I feel so bad for her and her two children…what is going on????

    Oh man….really bad news….this is so sad…
    Actually nowadays i´m watching “last scandal”….it´ll be so sad watching it…..
    how terrible…besides all this rumors about her suicide to Ahn Jae-hwan´s makes it worse….
    Anyways my thoughts are with her family and her two children…

    This is an irresponsible post. It was not “apparent” and it was these unsubstantiated rumors that somehow because of the debt to Choi Jin-Sil, Ahn committed suicide that contributed to her depression.

    This is very difficult to believe.
    She was the love of every guy in the 80s and 90s. I can’t believe she’s gone. Let’s pray for her family and two surviving kids.

    Oh! what a news.. I was looking forward for her ‘last scandal 2′ project.. we lost a great actress. It seems like korean can be so mean, how cud they speculate and accuse others death to someone wth no prove so openly like that..

    I can’t believe it! How could she let such a minor problem get the best of her. She had everything going for her.I really hope this is the end of suicide here in Korea.There is no need of this. Every problem has a solution. Trust me on this, I know.

    Soo sad! I started watching her dramas and movies since I was 14….14 yrs ago. =( I was shocked to here this. She was one of my favorite actresses.
