45th Baeksang Arts Awards : The Winners

One of Korean entertainment’s oldest and most prestigeous awards ceremony – The 45th Baeksang Arts Awards was held in Seoul on the 27th February, 2009. This year’s awards honoured the best in film (movies) and television (dramas) in the entertainment industry.

The first Baeksang Arts Awards was held way back in 1965 honouring film, television as well as theater. Chang Key-young, founder of The Hankook Ilbo newspaper established the ceremony. How did the name “Baeksang” come about? Well, “Baeksang” was Chang’s pen name!

So there you have it — the history of the Baeksang Arts Awards.
