Some of you might have already seen these photos of Kim Bum (Boys Before Flowers) behind the scenes in New Caledonia. He posted them on his mini-hompy some time back.
Kim Bum seems happiest reading and discussing his lines with Producer-Director (PD) Jun Ki-sang. In the drama, the 20 year-old actor (he’s the youngest among the F4 guys) plays rich playboy So Yi-jung.
The making of the KBS2 drama took the cast and crew of BBF to two overseas filming locations — New Caledonia (Episodes 5 and 6) and Macau.
If you were taken in by the breath-taking scenes in New Caledonia, here’s a bit of information about the island.
According to wikipedia:
New Caledonia is located in the southwest Pacific Ocean, east of Australia and northwest of New Zealand. The island nation of Vanuatu (if you watched Survivor Vanuatu this island would ring a bell) lies to the northeast.
Captain James Cook discovered New Caledonia in 1774. The name “Caledonia” is derived from the Latin name of an area corresponding to modern Scotland. Upon discovering the island, its rugged coastline reminded Captain Cook (whose father is a Scot) of Scotland, and thus named it New Caledonia.
Hmm…maybe we will consider going to New Caledonia for our next vacation.
