Lee Hyo-ri got a huge scare when she arrived at Shanghai airport on 22 April for a 3-days, 2 night visit to China. She was chased by Chinese fans and paparazzi at the airport. The fans didn’t back off and kept pointing cameras at her with only her manager to protect her.

The Korean star was so terrified that she broke into tears as she hid behind a van in the airport parking lot, surrounded by screaming fans pointing video cameras at her.

Poor Hyori. Why wasn’t there more bodyguards or more from her entourage to protect her?

    Poor Hyori!!! All stars understand somethings come with the turf, but this is ridiculous! Common courtesy people, the poor thing was terrified and I would be too. Even when she was crying behind the van a creep-o put his face right between her manager’s arm and her flowers to get a closer look. Babo!!!!

    What is everybody talking about Hyori being terrified what the hell did she bring her butt to China in the first place if she didn’t like the attention.
    I swear some of these self-serving stuck up a#$ celebrities kill me with their holier than thou I can’t stand a large crowd of people around me and I cry like a wimp but they can pay to make me rich. My point is get over it or go get a job.

    you’re actually condoning these ‘fans’ actions and putting the blame on hyori? assinine. i’m not a fan of her’s, but she doesn’t deserve this … no one does. she could have been seriously hurt or even killed by these savages.

    but i hope her manager learns from this and provides adequate coverage for her from now one.

Also common sense would’ve told her to not leave the airport without tight security, you mean no one could call the police for her and get her an escort?     Now I’ve heard of stupid things but your comments take the cake. I wasn’t condoning anything. I said she should’ve taken more precautions as even a blind man could see the crowd was rowdy. Now how can one man protect her from a crowd of 20 or more.

    I mean common sense should’ve told her not to leave the airport until a police escort was available. Anyway she is safe and that is the most important thing, PEACE

    i don’t understand some of these airport dramas actually. a month or so ago, we saw an airport drama with some members of dbsk, now hyori.

    WHAT IF? [NOW THIS IS A CRAZY IDEA, BUT JUST HEAR ME OUT] WHAT IF THE MANAGEMENT COMPANIES STOP RELEASING THE TRAVEL DATES OF THESE INCREDIBLY POPULAR STARS AHEAD OF TIME. i think it’ll be a world less dramatic. if you don’t want a MOB then don’t release dates/places. easy enough to understand yeah? they already know how crazy fans get, EVERYWHERE.

    some of these drama are self-inflicted. the management companies WANT the attention. this article, while it shows that hyori was petrified, confirms that hyori is an incredibly huge star in china as well.

    hyori shouldn’t be blamed for that airport mob incident..it was the fans that were being overly obsessive in taking pics/vids and in trying to be all up on her face..like come on people, doesn’t everyone deserve their own personal space? the fans should’ve just tried to understand her..i mean, didn’t they see her getting all freaked out?
    also, in hyori’s defense, she didn’t have any control of the situation..she’s the talent, and it’s the company’s responsibility to arrange all that security stuff beforehand..i think she just did what she was told..also, she was already freaking out..it was her fight or flight response acting up..and she chose flight and ran away..and i don’t think she could’ve done anything about the fan situation anyway..

    p.s. sorry if this comment is super long..i just wanted to let it out..

    Well if I was in her place I wouldn’t leave the airport until I had adequate protection. Hyori is the star here and there are some things in her control.

    Okay, I’m wondering why there was absolutely no security measures in place for this. Where were the bodyguards? Where were the airport security guards? I mean, damn … Hyori and her manager ran through the airport and outside into the parking lot, and in all that time they were behind the van, not ONE security guard came to them! That MUST have caused quite a jam in the parking lot as well, yet, there was no one there to restore order.

    And, yes … these crazy fans should just back the hell off, too! Makes me laugh how they actually run after her and try to take pics on their stupid cellphones! Michosso ….

    Come on ppl! Give her a break! It was reported that her arrival time was not released because it was supposed to be a quiet arrival but obviously fans and a few press found out and the way they were trying to push past her managers to get to her was just plain scary! You can’t blame her for getting scared!
    Any celebrity would’ve freaked!

    What a pity thing to happen. She is a normal person beside an idol, where privacy is needed. The behavior of those fans are labelling a bad name for the chinese all over the world ESPECIALLY China. Think about it, with this, celebrity from korea will think badly of china when they go there and take super extra precaution whenever next time they are going there.

    They should have practice self control after she left the airport and not chase her all the way down to god know where.
