Korean-American Jaebeom has quit 2PM, one of the hottest boybands in South Korea.

Controversy arising from an old post at his MySpace website caused the 22-year-old to quit.

It is reported that the Again and Again singer wrote comments like “Korea is gay. I hate Koreans. I wanna come back” on his MySpace site two years ago when he was a trainee at JYP Entertainment.

The 2PM leader then issued an apology recently, but it is quite apparent that it wasn’t good enough.

Today, Jaebeom announced that he is leaving the group…and Korea. The management agency he is under – JYP Entertainment – confirmed the news.

Jaebeom’s farewell message (translated from Korean) reads:

Hello, I’m 2PM’s Jaebeom.

I’m sorry for giving you my last greeting through this letter. I think it will be hard for me to see you all on stage because of my sorry heart.

I’m really sorry to everyone, and I’m even more sorry to the fans who have shown me love.

From today, I will leave 2PM.

2PM boys, I’m really sorry to the boys and I’m sorry I couldn’t be strong as a leader and a hyung and have to leave like this.

However, I hope you will be more cool and charming.

Again, I’m sorry.

Jaebeom took the 6:30pm (Korea time) flight back to the States, and there were many fans who turned up to say their last goodbyes.

    I felt so sad upon reading this news. Sigh. Why must the antis be so cruel? They just ruined somebody's dream. Ugh. Jay should think about deleting his MySpace account before debuting in Korea though. Sigh. Creepy how fans stalk everything.

    Anyway, all the best to you Jay, although I'm not a big fan of yours, I still feel the pain like every other fan would feel. We'll always support you with whatever decision you make.

    i'm totally mourning now! i can't believe it & i was trying to refuse o accept this devastating news! 2PM is like my life since i became their fan 4 months ago… stay up late stalking their old vids… LMAO when i watched IA, WB!!! and now, i'm crying like a kid… call me stupid by getting over reacted with this issue, but people just doesn't know what every single boys in 2pm meant to me…

    i never thought there would come a day where ill cry over someone who doesn't even know me but Park Jaebum leaving 2PM really hit me hard where it hurts the most. we will never know how much a person mean to us until he/she is gone. same goes to Jay. He is the funniest, most charismatic, most hardworking, most talented artist ive seen in K-Pop. He gave me laugh when i needed it the most. Even today, i tried to cheer myself up by watching Wild Bunny. Boy, he was hysterical. Thank you for the laughter, Jay. what happened to him could be prevented but the ones with the powers did nothing to stop him. Jay is not succumbing to anti's demands but gave them a taste of their own medicine. now we know how much Koreans love him and how much his fans treasure him. i hope he will live a better life in USA but im still holding on to the hope that he'll return to entertain us again, someday.

I got phone called from my friend..and for the first time I cried at my office because of this sad news…the netizen really cruel..and JYP too stupid…how come he approve about this leaving thing?? Jaebom really a great leader..Hope others Company will take Jaebom and form a superb group for him..and that time,JYP will regret with what he do…

    What past is past..Can't they just forgive him about this??

    Haven't they heard of forgive and forget?? It was like 5 years ago before he even debuted… Geez… If he just posted it up then ok, you have the rights to make a HUGE fuss over it… But PPL, it was 5 YEARS AGO! Plus it was during his training period… all the stress must have gotten to him so he just wanted to relieve his stress…

    i feel so sad… only jaebeom knows the real reason for his action 4 years ago… considering his situation – more like an alien who knows nothing and yet tries to fit in in a place in which the culture is all new to him – i think, it's unfair for him to be treated this way… whatever his reason is, i'm sure at that time, it was reasonable… nobody even asked why he felt that way before… what about his feelings huh? the pain he felt? the sacrifices he made? gosh!

    when people don't know anything about something, would they immediately love it? of course not… but they can learn to love it… and i'm sure jaebeom has learned that…
