Review: Pure Beauty Pomegranate Antioxidant Eye Cream

I’d give any Korean beauty brand a try. All those Korean celebs with porcelain skin are just too convincing when it comes to beauty products manufactured in the land of the Hallyu.

A while back, I woke up, looked into the mirror and noticed some fine lines appearing under my eyes. Before the lines matured into full-fledged wrinkles, I’d better get on a serious eye cream-slathering regime.

My feet brought me to the Watsons store during lunch break one day and I noticed Pure Beauty – a K-brand with posters that depicted flawless-skinned models. After browsing the shelves laden with its many products, I found the Pomegranate Antioxidant Eye Cream.

Nice! Just what I needed for my soon-to-be crinkly eyes. The product promises to “fight against free radicals and harmful substances leaving your eyes recharged and reenergised. The special anti-dark circles and anti-puffiness formula, allows your eyes to look brighter and more charming than ever.”

Oh, yeah! That sounds promising. Goodbye bilberry supplements…OK, not really.

The price for the eye cream was reasonable too as it was offered at an introductory price. I think I got it for less than RM20.

And so I went on a strict under eye care regimen. Day and night, the Pomegranate Antioxidant Eye Cream was smeared on.

Alas, after 4 weeks of faithful eye cream slathering, I’m afraid my testimony is unlike those found at the Pure Beauty website.

There wasn’t much or any improvement at all. The creases under my eyes remain. In fact, a week into my regime and – believe it or not – I noticed that the fine lines got more prominent! Nonetheless, like any anti-wrinkle advocate, I stayed on the narrow under eye care road and continued putting on the cream.

Now that the 15ml tube of pomegranate infused extract is about to finish, there doesn’t seem to be much difference from the first time I noticed the fine lines. Of course, I won’t be getting any more Pure Beauty products…it doesn’t seem to work for me. Maybe I have elephant under eye skin. Maybe the product doesn’t combat fine lines, since it only has an “anti-dark circle” and “anti-puffiness” formula.

I’m once again on the hunt for a good eye cream and it doesn’t have to be a K-brand. If you have any suggestions, feel free to leave a comment. My fine lines and I thank you :).
