It was a pleasant surprise when K-popped! received an e-mail from Dia Frampton — runner up of NBC’s The Voice (Season 1). It became an even bigger surprise when Dia said that she is half Korean.
At her blog, the singer, songwriter and novelist wrote: “I am half Korean. My mom is from Seoul. My dad is of Dutch descent.” Dia’s father also used to be a radio DJ in South Korea.
The 24-year-old, who is currently on tour with her The Voice coach Blake Shelton, covered Wonder Girl’s smash hit Nobody recently. She said: “My mom wanted me to cover a song from her home country, Korea (Seoul), so here it is!”
