In South Korea, November 11 is a special day for couples to exchange Pepero(s) (a cookie stick that is dipped in chocolate) with each other to show affection between friends, families and lovers. The day is called Pepero Day due to the sticks representing 1, and celebrated on November 11, or 11/11, just like a Pepero stick. But 2015, in Malaysia, it is the day that Running Man star HAHA, made an appearance in Lot10 Shopping Complex, to celebrate Love 11, thanks to the people from 11Street Malaysia.
According to 11Street’s CEO, Mr Kim HoSeok, the 11th of each month from now on will be declared as Love 11 day, to surprise shoppers with great deals and giveaways. The event with HAHA was both to announce the day and focused on rewarding Malaysian shoppers who has supported 11Street for the past 8 months since they’ve launched in Malaysia. “We selected November 11 to announce these commitments because it is a day that is symbolic to our brand name; It is also a day that 11ST Korea celebrates widely by giving back to its consumers, motivated by the Korean annual practice of showing affection to loved ones on November 11. We too were inspired to host our first ‘LOVE 11’ celebration in Malaysia, and to mark the 11th of every month as our ‘LOVE 11’ Day to reward fans and loyal customers with great offers,” Kim said.
Short speech by Mr Kim HoSeok
As for the guest of honor, Ha DongHoon, better known as HAHA, though this is not his first trip to Malaysia, the support given by fans weren’t any different. He was welcomed by a throng screaming fans who were happy to see him in person for the first time, or for the 2nd, 3rd time >.< A crowd pleaser, HAHA always tried to make fans who were either close to the stage or far feel welcomed.
At the event, HAHA, along with Mr Kim HoSeok and Malaysia brand ambassador Emily Chan officiated the launching of Love 11. HAHA performed some of his hit songs including Busan Vacance and Rosa along with rapper M.Tyson.
