5 Festivals in Korea You Must Attend This Summer

Summer has arrived, which means it’s time for some serious fun and tunes.

This summer, Korea will offer plenty of entertainment, ranging from live music, fireworks to water fights and many more.

1. Boryeong Mud Festival

| Where: Daecheon Beach, Boryeong City

For international travelers, there is nothing quite like Boryeong Mud Festival, which is Korea’s one of the largest and most popular festivals that should be on top of the list for all festival-goers this summer.

At the festival, visitors can enjoy a variety of mud-based activities such as mud slides, mud pits, a mud prison, giant mud bath, a mud swimming pool and plenty more.

Besides these fun-filled activities, SBS MTV’s “The Show, a popular Korean music television program will be live streamed at the venue on July 22 as part of the festival.

4. Water Bomb Festival 2017

5. Pohang International Fireworks Festival

| When: 26 – 30 July 2017

Known as the “City of Light and Fire,” the coastal city of Pohang will host its annual fireworks festival where the spectacular fireworks display over the Yeongildae Beach will be showcased every night during the festival period.

Additional highlights include street performances, live music, laser shows and the magnificent fireworks competition on the night of July 29.

| How to Go: Overnight shuttle buses will be running to the festival from Seoul. It is best to book your ride well in advance as the shuttle bus runs only on July 29.
