Puchong United Badminton Club (PUBC) is all fired up to take on their rivals in the semi finals of the SS Purple League Championship 2017/18 after clinching the top spot in Phase One of the League.

Having settled on runner up position last year, PUBC has set their eyes on gold this year. The Club faced tough competition this year but managed to emerge top in Phase One. It accumulated 106 points, 8 points ahead of their closest rival. PUBC’s homegrown star players, Goh Liu Ying (Malaysia), Tan Kian Meng (Malaysia), Lai Pei Jing (Malaysia), Shevon Jemie Lai (Malaysia), Liew Daren (Malaysia), Lim Khim Wah (Malaysia), international star players, Yoo Yeon Seong (Korea), Chou Tien Chen (Taiwan), Wei Nan (Hong Kong) and Deng Xuan (China) as well as PUBC’s Team Manager, Irina Inozemtseva, collectively emphasised the importance of teamwork and positivity as the key elements motivating them to secure a win this year.

“We are thankful that our hard work and determination in the court has brought us thus far and we are looking forward to the last leg and to achieve our aim – clinching the title as Champions and winning the gold medal. Although we are more determined than ever to clinch the prestigious SS Purple League Champions 2017/18 trophy, I’ve always reminded the team that we must not underestimate our opponents. #RoadtoGold is not a goal to win the trophy, but it’s a holistic approach for our team to be successful in everything we do,” said Irina Inozemtseva, Team Manager of PUBC.
