Red Velvet is Ready To Meet Their Fans in Chicago

SM Entertainment and SubKulture Entertainment are proud to announce the 2018 RED VELVET FANMEET IN CHICAGO! Following the successful release of their first repackaged album The Perfect Red Velvet and its title track “Bad Boy” debuting at #1 on Gaon’s Download Chart, Red Velvet will be holding their first U.S fanmeet in the windy city!

This marks Red Velvet’s first fanmeet event in the United States where they will be able to meet their fans, ReVeluvs, in a more intimate setting. The fanmeet is scheduled to take place in Chicago, IL at the Rosemont Theatre on Sunday, April 29, 2018.

More information regarding ticket prices, benefits, and sales date will be released at a later time.

Red Velvet, consisting of members Irene (leader), Seulgi, Wendy, and Joy, debuted in August 2014 with “Happiness”. Yeri, the fifth member of the group, was added in March 2015 when they released their first mini-album Ice Cream Cake. This album came to be the best selling album by a girl group in South Korea for the first half of 2015.

Their first full-length album, The Red, was released in September 2015, which included the popular lead single “Dumb Dumb”. The album debuted at #1 on Billboard’s World Albums Chart and South Korea’s Gaon Album Chart. In September 2016, Red Velvet released their third EP Russian Roulette. With the lead single “Russian Roulette”, they took their first music show win and the song peaked at number two on the Gaon Digital Chart and Billboard’s World Digital Songs chart.

In 2017, their lead singles “Rookie”, “Red Flavor”, and “Peek-a-Boo” as well as the releases of their albums Rookie, The Red Summer, and Perfect Velvet earned Red Velvet “top girl group” status in South Korea, which was cemented further when Perfect Velvet sold over 100,000 copies. Red Velvet is also widely known for their dual concept of their “red” and “velvet” sides, which has never been seen before among South Korean girl groups. The “red” half is their brighter, bubblier side while their “velvet” side is their softer, more mature, and elegant concept. In February 2018, Time Magazine named Red Velvet as one of the best K-pop groups, highlighting their versatile musical styles.
