BTS is Winning on Spotify with Latest Album Release and Hit Single ‘Boy With Luv’ feat. Halsey

Fresh off the charts, BTS’ latest single Boy With Luv feat. Halsey has hit #3 on Spotify’s Global Top 50, setting a brand new record for the highest position ever attained by a K-Pop artist. In fact, MAP OF THE SOUL : PERSONA’s debut sets a new record as the most-streamed K-Pop album on Spotify in a single day, breaking a record they previously set themselves in 2018 when they released Love Yourself 結 ‘Answer’. It is also the very first K-Pop album to have all tracks debut on the Global Top 50 chart.

Boy With Luv (Ft. Halsey) and various tracks on the album spearheaded an All-Kill on Spotify Top 50 charts around the world, hitting #1 in 25 markets – Malaysia included – and making it within the top 10 across 71 markets. This marks a K-Pop domination of close to 90% of Spotify Top 50 charts in the world!

The K-Pop supergroup is no stranger to breaking records – last week they became the very first K-Pop and Asian artists to surpass 5 billion streams on Spotify.

Chee Meng, Tan, Head of Artist & Label Marketing, Asia, Spotify, says: “These are defining times for K-Pop – seeing a genre from Asia take over audiences all over the world in this way is unprecedented. The growing international recognition speaks volumes of K-Pop’s creativity and ability to transcend cultural and geographical boundaries.”

He adds: “Music has the power not only to emotionally connect fans to their favourite artists but also to unite fans all over the world. We are thrilled to be enabling and growing this connection in every way we can.”

If you haven’t already heard, ARMY and K-Pop fans can also check out music the BTS boys absolutely adore in their takeover of Spotify’s Teen Party playlist from now till Friday morning, featuring their most-favourite tracks around the world including music from Halsey’s Without Me, Queen’s legendary anthem Bohemian Rhapsody and Billie Eillish’s idontwannabeyouanymore.
