Trying to get K-popped! in Macau
I was sent to Macau for an assignment recently and being K-popped! I couldn’t help but look out for all things Korean. While there was much to see and do in Macau, there wasn’t much K-related things to experience.

새해 복 많이 받으세요!
Once again, we usher in the Lunar New Year with lots of delicious food and warm gatherings of family and friends. As Rooster (in Tiger costume, pic above) busily packs her bags to make her way home for the festivities, sweet Orchid (in purple) is still working (!) her butt off for a rather ungrateful superior. As for me…let’s just say I’m really looking forward to the Year of the Tiger where we can start things anew. The K-popped! Trio would like to wish every one of you a very properous Year of the Tiger. May the new year bring you truck loads of good health, joy and love. 새해 복 많이 받으세요! Related:Gong Xi Fa Cai! (2009)K-popped! Earth Hour 2009
Don’t forget to turn out the lights tonight from 8:30pm-9:30pm! And if you’re heading out, don’t forget to switch the lights off before you leave home. Liz, Orchid and Rooster turn out the lights for Earth Hour.(Hover your mouse over the image for a surprise!) What is Earth Hour? “In 2009, Earth Hour is being taken to the next level, with the goal of 1 billion people switching off their lights as part of a global vote. Unlike any election in history, it is not about what country you’re from, but instead, what planet you’re from. VOTE EARTH is a global call to action for every individual, every business, and every community. A call to stand up and take control over the future of our planet. Over 74 countries and territories have pledged their support to VOTE EARTH during Earth Hour 2009, and this number is growing everyday. We all have a vote, and every single vote counts. Together we can take control of the future of our planet, for future generations. VOTE EARTH by simply switching off your lights for one hour, and join the world for Earth Hour. Saturday, March 28, 8:30-9:30pm.” – Excerpt from earthhour.org
A family holiday in Cameron Highlands
As I do every Chinese New Year, I pack my bags and head home to Malaysia to spend the holidays with family and friends. This year, Liz, Orchid and I thought we’d do something different. Instead of having a big family gathering at home, we would have a family vacation in Cameron Highlands – one of Malaysia’s popular highland getaways where the weather is cool and the air is fresh! A welcomed break from Kuala Lumpur’s hot and humid climate. Clearly not the most innovative plan because just about every other family in Malaysia decided to vacation in Cameron Highlands during the New Year festivities as well. But you’d never tell from these photos that we had to battle, push and squeeze through hordes of holiday makers. Tailgating – Rooster follows Orchid. We started our journey fromKuala Lumpur at 7:30am arriving in Cameron Highlandsa little over 4 hours later. We definitely took our time on the road. Old English Charm : the Trio and family checked intoBala’s Holiday Chalet in Tanah Rata town. This was a school during British Malaysia.Mr. Bala, who lives on the premises with his family, converted the colonial style building into an inn for weary travelers. Picturesque :

Happy Valentine’s Day!
And what will you be doing on this day? Pigging out on candy? Or slurping Jajangmyeon til your lips turn black. Jajangmyeong – a noodle dish in black bean sauce eaten on April 14th when singles go out and celebrate the joys of being single… or mourn their singlehood… whichever way you look at it. ;p Read more about Jajangmyeon in this article: White & Black Day
