K-popped! Trio on their Skytrex Adventure
The weekend following Liz’s birthday celebration, the Trio got together again for some adrenaline pumping fun at Skytrex. What is Skytrex? Why, it’s like jungle trekking except you’re in the treetops. At 17m (or 55ft) above the ground, you swing, climb and fumble through obstacles throughout the canopy of the forest, while being anchored, of course. Skytrex is located in Taman Pertanian, Shah Alam, an agricultural park about an hour drive from Kuala Lumpur. Covering 1,295 hectares, the park is one of the largest rain forest reserves in the world. We met at the entrance of the park and took a tram to Skytrex. When we arrived, we signed a waiver form, the instructors suited us up in our safety harnesses, gave us a briefing on how to use our carabiners and pulley at the warm up course and we were off! A Skytrex instructor fits the safety harness on Rooster. Thank goodness all equipment is imported from France. When thinking about dangling 50ft off the ground, being politically correctis the last thing on my mind. Orchid and Rooster trying out the warm up obstacle course. After spending my whole life with my feet on the ground, 9ft in the air

K-popped! Dreamz in Genting Highlands
K-popped! goes to Genting Highlands again! We were there for the MTV Asia Awards 2008 earlier this month, so what warrants another visit? City of Entertainment: On the road to Genting Highlands…again No, we didn’t develop an addiction to the casinos on our last visit. We were there for Dreamz, a stage extravaganza of technicolour body-hugging costumes, illusions and a white lion and white tiger (more on my encounter with the magnificent beast later)! AMBP shoutout Thanks to the Editor and small team behind the AllMalaysian Bloggers Project (AMBP), K-popped! got to enjoy the show last Saturday (Aug 23). Head North: Just follow the signs Orchid was the designated driver for the trip and we made our way up the mountain on a gloomy afternoon. It was easy getting to Genting Highlands as there were many road signs along the way. Apart from that, we saw a billboard for the Dreamz extravaganza along the highway. Show: Don’t forget to take Exit 803A for a night of Dreamz We decided not to drive all the way to the top of the mountain. Firstly, it would put a strain on the car and secondly, why drive in the pouring rain negotiating dangerous

Who will appear at the 2008 Beijing Olympics closing?
The closing ceremony of the XXIX Olympiad in Beijing is exactly one week away. Yeah it’s next Sunday, 24 August 2008. After a spectacular opening ceremony, i am expecting an equally impressive closing in Beijing. There are many speculations on who will take to stage on this very prestigious event. The spectacular Opening Ceremonyof the 2008 Beijing Olympics Who do you think will sing? Jay Chou? Leona Lewis? Rain? (Since he was rumored to sing?) Wang Lee Hom? (Since he wrote the song One World One Dream?) Taiwan based singer Lee Hom penned the song One World One Dream Since the next Olympics will beheld in London, word has leaked out that David Beckham is scheduled to appear in the closing ceremony. Media reports that the 33 year-old England international top footballer will stand at the side of London Mayor Boris Johnson when International Olympic Committee (IOC) president Jacques Rogge hands him the flag for the host city of the next summer games in 2012. During London’s eight-minute presentation ceremony, Beckham is set to stand on top of one of London’s red double-decker buses and kick a football into the crowd. K-popped! attends High School Musical: The Ice Tour
Hello friends, guess what Orchid and I were up to this afternoon? We went to Disney’s High School Musical: The Ice Tour show at Stadium Putra, Bukit Jalil! Premium items: The box of popcorn costs RM10, while thecrushed ice flavoured with raspberry syrup (your choice of red or blue) + HSM straw cup costs RM20. They were selling like hotcakes sinceoutside drinks and food weren’t allowed onto the premises. I know, I know, there’s nothing K-popped! about High School Musical: The Ice Tour, except when Orchid and I gleefully reminisced about the time we got K-popped! at the very same stadium during Rain‘s concert last year. Ahh, look how far we’ve come…I get misty-eyed thinking about that night — we were so close to the stage, we could see the sweat rolling down Rain’s taut chest. Oh, joy. Happy memories aside, here’s a picture essay of what happened earlier this evening at the high-energy ice show. We did not buy the show’s programme book, which was selling at RM40…or was it RM45? I can’t remember. But before we start with the picture essay, 감사합니다 to the kind person who gave us free tickets to the show . Arrival: We take

K-popped! meets Kenny Sia
At the recent 2008 MTV Awards Asia in Genting, Liz and i got the chance to meet Malaysian super-blogger Kenny Sia. What do you mean you haven’t heard of Kenny Sia? If you are in the Malaysian blogging scene, you would surely have heard of him. If you have not, then head over to Kenny Sia’s blog and take a peek. He is funny, witty and often includes political satire in his blog. 26 year-old Kenny also comes across as sincere and generally a fun loving person who simply loves to blog and share his experiences. He is the top Malaysian blogger and gets mind boggling page views and comments (in the hundreds!) in each post – the numbers that K-popped! (and i am sure other bloggers) can only dream of. Well, Kenny Sia (who hails from Kuching, Sarawak) was invited to the MTV Awards Asia as well. Liz and i met him at the Pavilion in Genting when we were collecting our media tags for the event. Liz, who is not usually keen on blowing her cover as being 1/3 of the K-popped! Trio, was eager to meet Kenny Sia. He obliged to take a photo with us, K-popped!

Waiting for Super Junior in the Press Room
So Orchid and I were not in the Arena of Stars where the 2008 MTV Asia Awards ceremony was held. We were at the Basement of Theme Park Hotel, which is next to the Arena of Stars. I was in the Press Room, a rather small room where the stars would drop by after receiving their award. They would then give interviews to the press. Super Junior: (l-r) Shiwon, Ryeowook, Heechul, Kyuhyun, Eunhyuk,Donghae, Yesung, Sungmin & Eeteuk (yay! I’m so happy I finally recognise them) So I waited for Super Junior. I remembered counting the 10 chairs on stage and thinking to myself that if SuJu were to come, one of them would have to stand. The award ceremony started at 7pm (ended at about 9.30pm) and I watched it through the LCD screens provided in the room. There was an audio glitch at the start so I didn’t get to hear the song dance crew Jabbawockeez was dancing to. Great choreography, by the way . Shiwon speaks English And the winner is…: Super Junior steps up to accept the Favourite Artist Korea Award. They beat out Big Bang, Girls Generation and Wonder Girls. K-popped!’s Nintendo Wii experience
Fun!: Won Bin (left) at the launch of the Nintendo Wiiin South Korea in April 2008 When Won Bin was at the South Korea launch of the Nintendo Wii (pronounced ‘we’) in April this year, he looked like he was having fun, so much so that I wanted a go at the Wii too. Back then, I also wrote about missing a Wii party my friend organised. In the entry, I said that if another Wii party came about, I would jump at the opportunity. Lo and behold, K-popped!‘s friend Darke decided to hold a Wii Fit Party on Saturday. Whoo hoo – play time! Eager beavers: Orchid and Liz arrive at Darke’shouse for the Wii Fit Party! Orchid and I arrived at Darke’s house all set to try out the Wii. For starters, Darke decided to give us something “easy” (yeah, right), which turned out to be long distance running! Geez, were we duped or what? . Wii ready: All set for some exercise and fun! It’s a race: Liz and Orchid trying to outrun eachother in the long distance run So there we were – Orchid and I – running in place, the Wii Remote in hand, panting

The one where Orchid celebrates her birthday
Hello K-popped! readers. Orchid is a year older today and here’s a peek at what we did on this special day. Rooster, we wish you were here. But then again, we wouldn’t have that entry on the hilarious hip hop dance competition you went to if you were . For Orchid’s birthday, we spent the day doing what most KL Lites do – go to the movies! Movie ticket: If you want to watch a movie at RM10,don’t go to GSC Mid Valley. It’s RM12 there. But before we went on our date with Po the Kung Fu Panda – haiyee-ah!, Orchid spotted Rain and tried to steal a kiss from him. Serious. We’ve got the picture to prove it. Muacks: ‘Gimme a kiss Bi, it’s my birthday!’ After that little birthday smooch, we prepared ourselves for awesomeness! Skadoosh!: It is said that his enemies would go blindfrom over-exposure to pure awesomeness! Kung Fu Panda absolutely rocks! Have you watched it yet? The flick will tickle your funny bone until you fall off your chair. Its pure awesomeness…will BLIND you. Heh heh. We went for the English version of the movie (there’s a Cantonese one for the Chinese audience as
