Tweet Super Junior on the Red Carpet at the20th Golden Melody Awards, Taipei [Pic credit: Osen] The thirteen member Korean boyband Super Junior performed at the 20th Golden Melody Awards at Taipei Arena, Taiwan last night. The awards ceremony was broadcast live on television. Did you catch them performing? Fans in Taiwan were ecstatic and cheered loudly as Super Junior walked down the Red Carpet. On the Red Carpet they sang “Sorry Sorry” for a bit when the Red Carpet host and hostess asked them to do so. This is SuJu’s second visit to Taipei. Their first visit was when they attended the 18th Golden Melody awards in 2007. SuJu performed It’s You and Sorry Sorry at the awards. Si-won’s group Super Junior will be embarking their 2nd ASIA TOUR (SUPER SHOW II) soon! The Dancing Out MV (from SMTown Summer 2006 album) shows the city of Kuala Lumpur as the backdrop. Places that we recognize…KLCC (Kuala Lumpur City Center), Petronas Twin Towers, Putrajaya (the mosque), The Park at Suria KLCC, Suria KLCC shopping mall, Lot 10, Bukit Bintang etc. Okay, this was three years ago, but we still can get excited can’t we? Super Junior The 3rd Album Sorry Sorry
Tweet Thirteen member boy band Super Junior makes a comeback with their 3rd album entitled SORRY, SORRY. This album has an Urban Minimal Funky dance music style. The boys are showing off new haircuts and wearing Justin Timberlake-like sexy masculine suits (or so it says in a recent article). Compose Yoo Yeong-jin uses the words “sorry” and “baby” combined to coin the word “shawty” in the title track. The album is expected to drop on March 16, 2009. Super Junior Lee Teuk masquerades as a catwalk model
Tweet Shhh…don’t tell anyone if you know who I am Does he look familiar to you? If you say yes, then that’s Lee Teuk, the de facto leader of the 13-member Korean boy band Super Junior. While two of his bandmates, Kang-in and Kim Hee-chul are keeping busy performing in the Korean production of Xanadu, this member is making some extra cash, being a catwalk model. I am telling ya for the last time, you don’t know me! Not with all this eye make-up you don’t! While his friends were busy, Lee Teuk was seen at designer Park Jung Chul’s 09 S/S Seoul Collection. BoA, TVXQ and Super Junior share stage in SMTOWN LIVE '08
Tweet BoA, TVXQ and Super Junior will be touring Asia together in a concert entitled SMTOWN LIVE ’08. The concert which consists of S.M. Entertainment artiste also features Girls’ Generation (SNSD), The Grace and SHINee. The tour kicks off in Seoul on 16 August and will include Shanghai, Bangkok and Beijing. According to a PR representative from S.M. Entertainment, BoA is currently slated to perform in Seoul and Shanghai, but has not confirmed if she will go to Bangkok or Beijing. TVXQ and Super Junior, however, will be at all the venues. BoA, Dong Bang Shin Ki (TVXQ) and Girls’ Generation SMTOWN LIVE ’08 starts in Seoul tomorrow (16 Aug, 2008) at 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Olympic Main Stadium. Tickets cost 22,000 won to 66,000 won. My experience on the MTV Asia Awards Red Carpet
Tweet As most of you who have been following this blog would know, i had the chance to photograph on the Red Carpet at the recent 2008 MTV Asia Awards in Genting, Malaysia. This is my first time on the Red Carpet, much less photographing the gorgeous stars. I was very intimidated. Some photogs had very sophisticated equipment and years of experience. Some had more than one camera, some had a two-step ladder to help them get a better shot. All i had with me was my Nikon D40 with its kit lens. No extra zoom lens, no external flash… RTM reporter giving a live report. It was pandemonium on the Red Carpet. Fans were screaming and everyone was excited! Photographers and media were on one side of the Red Carpet, and we were confined in a wooden box about chest high. Official photographers of the event however, get to walk around freely. It was a photography battlefield out there, and i had no friends. Everyone was vying for good pictures. To each his own. You’ve got to push and squeeze your way through to get a good shot. I even heard of a photog stepping on someone else’s equipment

Waiting for Super Junior in the Press Room
Tweet So Orchid and I were not in the Arena of Stars where the 2008 MTV Asia Awards ceremony was held. We were at the Basement of Theme Park Hotel, which is next to the Arena of Stars. I was in the Press Room, a rather small room where the stars would drop by after receiving their award. They would then give interviews to the press. Super Junior: (l-r) Shiwon, Ryeowook, Heechul, Kyuhyun, Eunhyuk,Donghae, Yesung, Sungmin & Eeteuk (yay! I’m so happy I finally recognise them) So I waited for Super Junior. I remembered counting the 10 chairs on stage and thinking to myself that if SuJu were to come, one of them would have to stand. The award ceremony started at 7pm (ended at about 9.30pm) and I watched it through the LCD screens provided in the room. There was an audio glitch at the start so I didn’t get to hear the song dance crew Jabbawockeez was dancing to. Great choreography, by the way . Shiwon speaks English And the winner is…: Super Junior steps up to accept the Favourite Artist Korea Award.They beat out Big Bang, Girls Generation and Wonder Girls. Tweet Okay, here it is, fans of Super Junior…this is for you. A blow by blow of what happened on the Red Carpet when 11 of them arrived at the 2008 MTV Asia Awards in Genting, Malaysia! At the ceremony, they won the Favorite Artist of Korea award. Of course those of you who were there could chip in and give an account in our comments section. Did anyone of you get their autographs? Or perhaps a kiss on the cheek by the handsome oppas? Super Junior arrived on the Red Carpet right after the Pussycat Dolls. Before i could even catch my breath after all the excitement, SuJu walked up like so… Super Junior arrives at the 2008 MTV Asia Awards -all dressed in black & white. Dashing Shiwon in allblack (with V-necked shirt) and Eeteuk was in front. Eeteuk says “Look Shiwon, isn’t that Orchid from K-popped!?” Orchid waves back “Annyeong handsome oppa” After that brief interlude, it’s back to business on the Red Carpet and leader Eeteuk lines the guys up for a group photo. MTV VJs Utt and Denise Keller were the MCs for the Marathon Press Conference (MPC) at the Resort World Hotel, Genting Highlands. Why do we call it an MPC? Well, because it started at 3pm and only ended at about 7pm! Foolin’ around: MTV VJs Denise Keller (left) and Utt hosted the event First up were speeches by the various sponsors, then the host of the award show – Jared Leto – was introduced/interviewed, followed by the unveiling of the MTV Asia Awards gold-plated trophy. After that, there was a photo session before the mass interviews with the many artists began.
