Matryoshka dolls in Korean hanbok

A Matryoshka doll a.k.a. Russian nested doll is a set of dolls of decreasing sizes placed inside one another.

I am sure you’ve seen these dolls before. They are the most popular souvenirs for tourists in Russia. The dolls are usually decorated in traditional Russian outfits. But now, a Korean woman in Moscow has added a Korean touch.

Goodness, these Matryoshka dolls in
hanbok look so cute!

41-year-old Lee has learned how to make the Matryoshka dolls from a Russian master and now creates her own dolls dressed in hanbok. Lee plans to make some 50 Matryoshika dolls in Korean dress and hold an exhibition in Seoul and Moscow to mark the 110th anniversary of the doll’s birth in 2009.

Do you own a set of Matryoshka dolls?
