Super Junior threw a partay to remember in Malaysia on March 19. The group’ s 10 members — namely Leeteuk, Heechul, Shindong, Yesung, Sungmin, Siwon, Eunhyuk, Donghae, Ryeowook and Kyuhyun together with 2 Super Junior-M members Zhou Mi and Henry Lau — were back in town for their third Asia tour, Super Show 3!

ELFs have been waiting for the concert for months and were more than ready for the guys. Even before the group touched down in Malaysia, fans were already at the KL International Airport to greet them. However, few got a glimpse of the boys due to the efficient and tight security. Apart from that, many fans also camped outside the Putra Indoor Stadium in Bukit Jalil the night before the concert…all in the hopes of catching the boys during the rehearsal.

Unlike last year, Super Show 3 (SS3) started right on the dot at 6pm. “Fan-demonium” erupted when the first video was shown.

Meanwhile, the opening was visually impressive as Donghae was lifted and suspended mid-air before Super Junior’s Sorry Sorry Remix kicked off the party. Over the course of the night, the boys performed 34 songs. Although the song list for SS3 paled slightly in comparison to SS2, SS3 was much more superior production wise.

After the incredibly synchronized and explosive performance of Sorry Sorry Remix, the boys followed it up with two other high-energy acts: the Korean remix of Super Girl and Don’t Don Remix, which had an edgy bridge featuring Heechul on the drums, Jungmo from Trax on the electric guitar, Henry on the violin and Zhou Mi as a vocalist! The boys then cooled things down with the soothing No Other.

Next up was an entertaining introductory clip, after which the 10 boys continued with the enjoyable Good Person as well as Rokkugo.

For the solo performances, Ryeowook kicked things off with the Mandarin version of One Fine Spring Day, Kyuhyun serenaded the crowd with a cover of Jane Zhang’s 新不了情 (New Endless Love), Donghae and Eunhyuk performed a sexy dance duet to I Wanna Love You and much to the delight of many, leader Leeteuk showcased his talents on the piano with his cover of Lee Hom’s Kiss Goodbye.

Siwon was up next with Looking For The Day, followed by Henry’s version of Justin Bieber’s Baby, which undoubtedly won him many more fans that night. After that, it was another sexy performance by Sungmin with If You Leave. Fans of Heechul were slightly disappointed by his non-appearance as Lady HeeHee but almost all was forgotten when Eunhyuk appeared for a cover of Jay Sean’s Down.

The 10 members then got back together to perform Ttok Ttok Ttok, You & I and Song for You before taking a break. Zhou Mi (of Suju-M) then took the stage with his sassy take on Elva Hsiao’s Ms. Chic. A couple of songs later, fans were treated to a video tribute of Kangin through Rinaldo. Many of his fans shed a tear or two due to the melancholic music.

For his solo performance, Yesung sang It Has To Be You, his own song from the popular Korean drama Cinderella Sister. It was definitely one of the most memorable performances that night, especially when the crowd sang along with him.

Suju-M then performed Perfection complete with their aristrocratic looks and outfits. It was a pity that they did not perform more songs from their latest mini-album.

Group performances ensued with smash hits such as Bonamana, A Man In Love and U (Rock Remix) before the boys bade farewell with Dancing Out. Obviously, it was not enough for the fans so Suju returned for their three-song encore. They sang Cooking? Cooking!, Way for Love and Wonder Boy.

Before the fans know it, slightly more than 3 hours have passed and it was time for the curtain call. After some thank yous (Henry gave a shout-out to his Malaysia Twitter fans stating that “a good 70% are from Malaysia”) and recitals of English song lyrics (Kyuhyun with Stevie Wonder’s Lately and DongHae with Bruno Mars’ Nothing On You), it was time for the boys to leave.

As for fan projects, a number of them did not materialize that night but most of the other projects did. Everyone returned home with huge smiles plastered on their faces, especially those who managed to get physical contact or momentos from the playful members.

Every ELF is hoping that s/he will be able to attend Super Show 4, if it were to reach our shores next year.
