2013 almost come to an end. Let’s have a minute to go through what happened in Malaysia’s Kpop scene this year. 2013 is the busiest year for Kpop fans (well, not that we’re complaining). The continuous flow of Korean stars coming to our shores was overwhelming. Below is a list of Korean-related events that were held (or supposed to be held. Lol) in Malaysia for the year 2013.

JANUARY ~ MARCH

Jan 14-15 – Golden Disk Award. What a treat to kpop fans when 25 biggest acts visited Malaysia all at once. INFINITE, K.Will, Secret, Sistar, B.A.P, B1A4, BEAST, F(x), Juniel, Teen Top, SHINee, CNBLUE, FTIsland, T-Ara, Super Junior, Epik High, G-Dragon, Lee Hi, Ailee, KARA, EXO, 4Minute, BTOB, Huh Gak and Miss A were here for one of the biggest music awards in Korea. Hurray~!! \/(-.-)\/

Jan 18 – Top Gear Korea launch party was held at Vertigo Club, The Gardens Mall and hosted by the handsome Yeon JungHoon. Yes, he’s handsome and he’s taken! :p

March 22 – Malaysia kpop fans gets U-KISSed at Twin Towers Live 2013. We also met them at the evening for the press conference.

March 23 – 2NE1 fired up the crowd at Twin Towers Live 2013. Finally they came here after Malaysian Blackjacks ‘makan hati’ when last year’s concert was cancelled.

March 24 – Universal Kpop Crazy Party 2013. Hundreds of Malaysian k-pop fans flocked to Wisma Bentley, Mutiara Damansara for another series of fans gathering event by Universal Music Malaysia.

March 26 – Super Junior Choi Siwon’s surprised visit to Malaysia for LINE ads shooting. It’s supposed to be secret visit but Siwon announced it on twitter. Naughty huh?!

March 30 – LUNAFLY Showcase. It was a night to remember with beautiful music!. Check out our exclusive interview with the trio in February.

APRIL ~ JUNE

Apr 12 – Choi Siwon of Super Junior formally visiting Malaysia to promote LINE.

April 16 – Asia Super Showcase Press Conference. Only AOA in attendance.

May 12 – Asia Super Showcase with Shinhwa, SNSD and AOA. We’re looking forward for this one but sadly it was cancelled

May 18 – TVXQ Catch Me Live World Tour and Around the World with Mizz Nina and Jay Park. Yup! Both on the same day. Most of the Malaysian Kpop fans were at TVXQ concert but Jay Park loyal fans went to support him.

May 21 – A sweet date with tall and handsome Jo InSung. He was here to promote his drama That Winter, The Wind Blows. He’s tall, he’s handsome, he’s cheeky, he’s funny, he’s friendly!

June 14, 15 – Kim Jong Kook showcase and 3 hours fan sign at Paradigm Mall. Truly SPARTA!!

June 22 – G-Dragon World Tour : One Of A Kind and Sungha Jung Live in Kuala Lumpur. And yes, again 2 events in a day. We went cray cray cray-on at GD concert! We only met Sungha Jung at the press conference in the morning. Too bad we can’t attend his show 🙁

June 27 – AIA Kpop Concert with BEAST, 4Minute and G.NA. Cube United anyone? Ulalala~

June 29 – Lee MinHo My Everything concert. Kim Tan!!!

JULY ~ SEPTEMBER

Aug 23, 24 – Malaysian favourite artist at GDA, CNBLUE brings Blue Moon to Malaysia. And we met the band the day before for the  press conference. They rock!

Aug 31 – Korean-Taiwanese mixed artist, Bii was in town to promote his 2nd album.

Sep 1 – A-Prince Promo Tour in Malaysia

Sep 7 – Race Start! In Malaysia. Sukjin, Gary, Haha and JongKook! Nope, we didn’t get a chance to see them. This was the 2nd event cancelled this year 🙁

Sep 8 – 12 wolves of EXO for the MTV World Stage. Growllll~~

Sep 21, 22 – BIGSTAR at Inspiring Korea Festival. They spent 2 days here with a lot of activities for fans.

OCTOBER ~ DECEMBER

Oct 12 – 365 With Lunafly and SS501 Park Jung Min Dual Personality Showcase. 1 go and 1 down. Lunafly showcase was a success but Park Jung Min showcase not on 🙁

Oct 19 – INFINITE 1st World Tour One Great Step. They brought the house down, we heard!

Oct 20 – VIXX The Milky Way. We think they’re charming!^^

Oct 26 – M.I.K (Move In Key) Fans Meeting.

Nov 5 – Hari (original singer of gwiyomi) greeting Malaysia fans at Sg. Wang

Nov 23 – Super Show 2, Super Show 3 and now Super Show 5!

Nov 24 – E! Special Jay Park. 5th time in Malaysia and 2nd visit for this year. Woots! One of our favorite artist!

Nov 28 – Ricky Kim fan meeting at Publika, Solaris Dutamas. The Dream Team Ace was here for Rainforest Challenge 2013. He also went to Terengganu on the next day.

Dec 8 – Boys Republic Showcase. They’re cute!^^

Dec 21 – Skull & Haha Showcase. It’s reggae party!!

Dec 22 – FT Island FTHX Concert. Supposed to be the last concert of the year, but it’s cancelled. Sorry Prims. And get well soon, Hongki 🙁

WHOAAA…what a busy year for Kpop fans in Malaysia. Sadly, 4 events cancelled tho 🙁 We may have missed out a few events, but it’s OK. 2014 will be more busier than before. 3 events already confirmed for January 2014.
