Thousands Swarmed Pavilion KL For A Date With Kim Rae Won
Kim Rae Won, also affectionately known as ‘Hong Hong Hong’ in the hit K-drama ‘Doctors‘, was in Kuala Lumpur on October 10 for a surprise fan meeting with Malaysian fans. A sudden announcement from ONE HD a week before the event delighted thousands of fans as they were more than eager to meet the charming actor.
5,000 Korean drama fans of all ages gathered at Pavilion KL to get ‘treated’ by Dr. Hong. The open-to-public fan meeting was organized by the number one Korean entertainment channel in Malaysia, ONE HD. Some of the loyal fans even arrived at the venue 10 hours early to secure a good spot and show their support for the actor.
Wearing his boyish grin and infectious smile, Kim Rae Won met the members of media at Double Tree Hilton, KL just before the event in Pavilion KL. Talking about his hit drama ‘Doctors’, Kim Rae Won said he was thankful for the much love and support he received throughout the drama.
When asked about the best compliments he ever received from his fans, he said that he heard fans told him he looks like a real authentic doctor. Some fans said that they are lucky to live in the same generation as Kim Rae Won, so he really grateful to hear such comments.
Answering the media questions, Kim Rae Won said he had tried so many characters but if he has a chance, he want to be part of saeguk drama (historical drama) because some people said he looks like people from the ancient time.
The actor also mentioned that there will be two upcoming movies that he acted will be release soon, and one is an action movie! The press conference went smoothly and we had great time enjoying the time with him. And we have to mention that we loved the way he gave thoughts to his answers.
The actor’s visit to Kuala Lumpur follows the incredible success of his recently concluded hit drama series Doctors, which is the highest rated drama across all international channels in Malaysia.[1] When it premiered earlier in June, the immense popularity of the drama propelled ONE HD to the top spot on Astro during its telecast slot, rating eight times more than the other Korean channels combined.[1]

With fans packing the venue to the brim, the man of the hour spared no effort in dazzling them all with his iconic megawatt smile. The meet-and-greet session was punctuated by deafening screams from fans as he shared more about his experiences filming the drama Doctors.
To the delight of those present, six lucky fans were also selected to re-enact iconic scenes from ‘Doctors’ onstage, including the memorable dance in the rain between Kim Rae Won and Park Shin Hye. The participants took on the challenge with gusto, prompting nonstop laughter from the audience and effusive praise from the star himself. The evening ended on a high note with Kim Rae Won signing exclusive event posters for fans, before taking his leave amidst continued cheers from the audience.
