[Event Coverage] GOT7 gathers fans in Malaysia fan meet

GOT7, fresh from winning the Worldwide Favorite Artiste award at the recent Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA) 2016 was in Malaysia last weekend. Back in Malaysia for the 3rd time – GOT7 Flight Log: Turbulence in Malaysia marks the 2nd show for them in Malaysia after their first fan meet back in 2015. The show was attended by more than 3000 IGOT7 (GOT7 fan club name) from Malaysia and neighboring countries such as Vietnam, Thailand, the Philippines, China, and Japan.

The show, which started at 6pm was held at Mega Star Arena, Kuala Lumpur. GOT7 – JB, BamBam, Jackson, Mark, Jin Young, Yu Gyeom and Young Jae performed songs from their recent album Flight Log: Departure and Flight Log: Turbulence, which includes Prove It, Hard Carry, If You Do, and Fly and proved their versatility and worthy of the Best Worldwide Act award given to them at the MTV European Music Awards 2016.

During the 2 hour show, GOT7 also played some games on stage, and receive some indirect interaction with the fans especially during a game session called Guess The Item. The group were divided into two teams – Young Boy (young members in the group) and Old Boy (old members in the group). Each team were given a black box with an unknown item, and their task is to each touch the item, discuss among themselves and guess. The reactions by the group was funny and hilarious as they were anxious of the items in the box. The game ends in a tie, and as a tie breaker, rock, paper, scissors game were played to define the winner. Old Boy team won and the losing team had to take a Polaroid picture sporting ugly faces. The Polaroid were given to lucky fans.

“Malaysia has always been special to us as we filmed our music video ‘A’ here. It was hot that day but the fans waited with us and that means a lot to the group, we’ll remember you always” said Mark.

After the show ended, lucky fans were given the opportunity  to  either greet GOT7 or have their picture taken with the group.
