EXO Launches Official Twitter Account With More Than 11 Million Tweets Worldwide
Leading K-Pop band EXO (@weareoneEXO), who is about to comeback with a new album in mid-July, has launched their official Twitter account on 8th July. The debut was met with an extraordinary welcome of more than 11 million Tweets from fans around the world, propelling the hashtags #EXO and #KoKoBop onto the Global Trends on Twitter.
Even before their official Twitter account was launched, EXO has always been popular and much loved by their fans on Twitter, with fans worldwide generating an average of more than one million Tweets a day. Last year, EXO topped the list of the Top Trending Artists on Twitter, trumping top global artists such as Justin Bieber and One Direction.

With the launch of their official Twitter account (@weareoneEXO), EXO posted their very first Tweet on 8th July, 10:26 pm (KST). EXO also used Twitter’s ‘Instant Unlock’ feature to unveil their new album teaser videos on Twitter before the comeback. ‘Instant Unlock’ is a feature that allows users to view special videos and content by engaging with a Tweets. EXO is the first Korean account to use this functionality.

At around midnight on the next day, 9th July, a teaser video featuring EXO’s Kai was unveiled and the Tweet volume jumped once again. Fans of EXO raved, expressed their excitement and shared their anticipation for upcoming teaser videos featuring the rest of the EXO members, generating more than 3.7 million Tweet conversations overnight.

In celebration of the launch of EXO’s official account as well as to help fans around the world share their cheer at EXO’s comeback album, Twitter has created a special emoji for EXO. This special emoji will appear on all Tweets using the hashtags, #EXO, #엑소(EXO), #TheWarEXO and #KoKoBop for a month, from 8th July, 9:30pm to 8th August, 9:30pm (KST).
