KCON 2018 NY Adds Red Velvet And Pentagon To Artist Line-Up

KCON USA, the world’s largest Korean culture convention and music festival, adds artists Red Velvet and Pentagon to join this summer’s New York metro area edition on June 23-24 at the Prudential Center in Newark, NJ.

The ticket on-sale dates for KCON 2018 NY are Friday, May 11 at 3 p.m. EDT for concert tickets and Monday, May 14 at 3 p.m. EDT for convention tickets. Concert ticket price will range from $50 to $1,500 while the convention ticket for the two days is $20. Artist meet & greet tickets will also be available for purchase. Pentagon is a ten-member boy group formed by Cube Entertainment in 2016. The members are HUI, JIN HO, HONG SEOK, E DAWN, SHIN WON, YEO ONE, YAN AN, YUTO, KINO, WOO SEOK who were first introduced through the Mnet survival show Pentagon Maker. Pentagon made their official debut on October 10, 2016 with their first EP Pentagon, including title track “Gorilla.” The group released their second EP Five Senses in December 2016 and third EP Ceremony in June 2017. Ceremony became their first U.S. chart entry and took number 14 on Billboard’s World Album Chart. Pentagon then released their fourth and fifth EP Demo_01 and Demo_02 in September and November 2017. Recently, Pentagon made a comeback with their sixth Korean EP Positive with critically acclaimed lead single “Shine.”

Red Velvet is a South Korean girl group consisting of five members: Irene, Seulgi, Wendy, Joy, and Yeri. The group debuted in August of 2014 with their digital single “Happiness.” Their first U.S. performance was at KCON 2015 Los Angeles. Red Velvet has experienced huge success in Korea and overseas with albums like The Red, Rookie, and The Red Summer topping Billboard’s World Album Chart. In the end of 2017, they became the K-pop girl group with the most number-one albums on the chart with the latest release of their second studio album Perfect Velvet. Recently, the group entered the Top 10 of Billboard’s Social 50 chart for the first time after releasing “Bad Boy.” In March 2018, Red Velvet was announced to be performing at an inter-Korean concert in Pyongyang, North Korea.

KCON 2018 LA will take place on August 10-12 at the Staples Center & LA Convention Center.
