Rookie group D-Crunch traveled around Malaysia as part of their Diamond Stealer in Malaysia 2019 Showcase tour, covering Kuala Lumpur, Selangor and Penang and setting fans hearts on fire.
The nine-member group was formed under All-S Entertainment , by Lee Jong Seok, producer for Girl’s Day, and burst onto the scene with the hip-hop heavy Palace last August.
Fans arrived Sunway Velocity mall hours before the two-hour showcase started, with some coming from as far as Korea to snap a shot of their idols in action. Organisers YiPin Studio kept fans entertained with merchandise giveaways like signed posters, testing how well the DIANAs knew their idols.
When O.V, Hyunwook, Hyunho, Hyunoh, Hyunwoo, Minhyuk, Chanyoung,Jungseung, and Dylan appeared, the crowd went wild, screaming even louder whenever Dylan (who spent time in New Zealand as an exchange student) spoke English. The screams were so loud, they often drowned out the microphones.
The boys performed a selection of songs with unfailing energy and enthusiasm: “Palace”, “Stealer”, “I Want”, “I’m OK” and “I Miss You.”
Three lucky fans also got the chance to dance with the boys, who had split into groups of three and were tasked with teaching each fan one dance, with the audience acting as judges to decide who performed best.
D-Crunch’s admiration of BTS is well-known, so it was no surprise that one of the songs was “Fire”. Momoland’s earworm of a track, “BAAM,” and BLACKPINK’s “Ddu-du Ddu-du” were the other two – and “BAAM” came out on top.
Full of aegyo and fanservice, D-Crunch were adept at spotting and posing for the many phone cameras and DSLR’s around, with tall rapper HyunHo sending plenty of hearts and making cheesy poses whenever he got the chance.
After a short break, it was “Selca time” for DIANAs who had bought tokens to take one-on-one pictures with their favourite member (or members in some cases). Finally, fans with tokens were allowed to take a group picture with all the D-Crunch members.
We can’t wait to see what the boys achieve next – they have the energy, charisma and performances to go far.
