KCON Adds AB6IX and IZ*ONE To NY Concert Lineup
AB6IX AND IZ*ONE JOIN KCON NEW YORK 2019 LINEUP
World’s Largest Korean Pop Culture Fan Convention and Concert to Take Place at the World Famous Madison Square Garden and Javits Center with Concert Tickets On Sale May 22nd at 3pm EDT
KCON USA, the world’s largest Korean culture convention and music festival, announced today that the next two artists to join the KCON New York 2019 lineup are AB6IX and IZ*ONE. These two groups will be joining the previously announced TXT, NU’EST, ATEEZ, SF9 and EVERGLOW.
KCON, which is held in both New York and Los Angeles, is an annual celebration of every aspect of Korean pop culture and providing the most access to fans to the stars. KCON will run on July 6th and 7th at both the Javits Center and Madison Square Garden in New York, NY. The West Coast leg of the convention series will take place August 15th through the 18th at the Los Angeles Convention Center and Staples Center.
Tickets for the KCON NY concerts, which take place at Madison Square Garden, go on sale on Wednesday, May 22nd at 3PM EDT. Tickets for the convention at the Javits Center go on sale two days later on Friday, May 24 at 3PM EDT. AB6IX is an upcoming five-member boy group under Brand New Music. They will officially debut in May 2019. The group consists of Youngmin, Woong, Donghyun, Woojin and Daehwi. Youngmin and Donghyun are apart of the duo named MXM, while Woojin and Daehwi were members of Wanna One. AB6IX is short for “ABSOLUTE SIX,” meaning that the full line-up of BRANDNEWBOYS will achieve absolute perfection when the five members and the fandom are together. Their name is also an abbreviation of “ABOVE BRANDNEW SIX” which reflects the hopes that the five members and their fans will open up new horizons for Brand New Music.
IZ*ONE is a Korean-Japanese girl group formed through the Mnet reality show Produce 48. The group, managed by Off the Record Entertainment, is composed of twelve members: Jang WON YOUNG, MIYAWAKI SAKURA, JO YU RI, CHOI YE NA, AN YU JIN, YABUKI NAKO, KWON EUN BI, KANG HYE WON, HONDA HITOMI, KIM CHAE WON, KIM MIN JU and LEE CHAE YEON. IZ*ONE made their debut on October 29, 2018 with their first EP Album COLOR*IZ. In addition, both the EP and its lead single “La Vie en Rose” charted on Billboard World Albums and World Digital Songs. On April 1, 2019, the group released their second EP, HEART*IZ, with lead single “Violeta.” HEART*IZ sold 132,109 copies in the first week achieving a remarkable record.
