KCON LA 2019 Gets Bigger With The Next Revealed Artists!
NU’EST, AB6IX, EVERGLOW, VERIVERY AND IZ*ONE TO JOIN LINEUP FOR KCON LA
The World’s Largest Korean Culture Convention and Music Festival with the Most Amount of Access to the Stars to Take Place for Four Full Days August 15th -18th
KCON USA presented by Toyota, the world’s largest Korean culture convention and music festival, announced today that the next five artists to join the Los Angeles concert lineup are NU’EST, AB6IX, EVERGLOW, VERIVERY and IZ*ONE. These five artists join the previously announced Stray Kids, MAMAMOO, MOMOLAND, ONEUS, ATEEZ and CHUNG H. Concert tickets go on sale July 12th at 12:00pm PT while convention tickets (including add-on programs) go on-sale July 15th at 12:00pm PT.
KCON, which is held in both New York and Los Angeles, is an annual celebration of every aspect of Korean pop culture and provides fans the most access to the stars. This marks the first time that KCON LA will run for four full days to ensure the maximum amount of programming, fan engagements and everything that attendees expect from the yearly celebration of Korean pop culture. The West Coast leg of the convention series will take place August 15th through the 18th at the Los Angeles Convention Center and Staples Center. NU’EST is a five-member boy group formed by Pledis Entertainment in 2012. The group officially debuted on March 15, 2012 with digital single “Face.” NU’EST consists of five members: JR, Aron, Baekho, Minhyun, and Ren. To celebrate their 7th Year Anniversary since debut, NU’EST, known for their wide spectrum of music, released their Digital Single, “A Song for You.” The single gained much popularity and charted on various streaming charts throughout. Most recently, the group held their solo concert at one of Korea’s largest venues, KSPO Dome, selling out all three dates from April 12 to the 14 with over 36,000 audiences. The group released their new album titled <Happily Ever After> on April 29, 2019 with lead single “BET BET.”
AB6IX is a five-member boy group under BRANDNEW MUSIC. The group consists of YOUNG MIN, WOONG, DONG HYUN, WOO JIN and DAE HWI. YOUNG MIN and DONG HYUN are apart of the duo named MXM, while WOO JIN and DAE HWI were members of Wanna One. AB6IX is short for “ABSOLUTE SIX,” meaning that the full line-up of BRANDNEWBOYS will achieve absolute perfection when the five members and the fandom are together. Their name is also an abbreviation of “ABOVE BRANDNEW SIX” which reflects the hopes that the five members and their fans will open up new horizons for BRANDNEW MUSIC. The group debuted on May 22, 2019 with their first EP titled B:COMPLETE and lead single “BREATHE.”
EVERGLOW is a freshly debuted girl group under Yuehua Entertainment. Before their debut, member Sihyeon participated in the first season of Mnet’s survival program Produce 101 as an individual trainee in 2016 and Produce 48 with labelmate Yiren in 2018. Member Onda participated in Mnet’s survival program Idol School in 2017. The group consists of six members: E:U, Sihyeon, Mia, Onda, Aisha and Yiren. The group officially debut on March 18, 2019 with the release of their first single album <Arrival of Everglow>. The lead single “Bon Bon Chocolat” topped the iTunes K-Pop singles charts in 19 countries and entered high on Billboard’s World Digital Song Sales chart. Of all girl-group debut singles, EVERGLOW has the sixth-highest chart position on Billboard, earning the group one of the best best-ever K-Pop debuts. With unparalleled visual and performance, EVERGLOW has grown into a super rookie after taking second place on music shows with their debut as well as first place on Spotify and iTunes Chart.
VERIVERY is a seven-member boy group formed by Jellyfish Entertainment in January 2019. The members are DONGHEON, HOYOUNG, MINCHAN, GYEHYEON, YEONHO, YONGSEUNG, and KANGMIN. VERIVERY is Jellyfish Entertainment’s second boy group in seven years since VIXX. Their name comes from the Latin word “VERI” meaning ‘Truth’ and the English word “VERY.” VERIVERY is a combination of the words Various, Energetic, Real and Innovation. The group starred in their own reality show NOW VERIVERY: Real Road Movie on Mnet prior to debut. The group officially debuted on January 9, 2019 with their first EP <VERI-US> and title track “Ring Ring Ring.” On April 24, 2019, the group made a comeback with their second EP <VERI-ABLE> and title track “From Now.”
IZ*ONE is a Korean-Japanese girl group formed through the Mnet reality show Produce 48. The group, managed by Off the Record Entertainment, is composed of twelve members: JANG WON YOUNG, MIYAWAKI SAKURA, JO YU RI, CHOI YE NA, AN YU JIN, YABUKI NAKO, KWON EUN BI, KANG HYE WON, HONDA HITOMI, KIM CHAE WON, KIM MIN JU and LEE CHAE YEON. IZ*ONE made their debut on October 29, 2018 with their first EP Album <COLOR*IZ>. In addition, both the EP and its lead single “La Vie en Rose” charted on Billboard World Albums and World Digital Songs. On April 1, 2019, the group released their second EP, <HEART*IZ>, with lead single “Violeta.” <HEART*IZ> sold 132,109 copies in the first week.
