Record of Youth follows the lives of youths experiencing love and following their dreams. The true underdog of the series is Sa Hye-jun (Park Bo-gum) who is a model striving to break out into acting. Coming from modest means, Hye-jun endures harsh criticism and demoralizing situations on his path toward success. With every advancement comes some setbacks, but Hye-jun gradually becomes acknowledged and loved.

 

Fight for My Way

Fight for My Way beautifully combines stories of love, dreams, and growth for four childhood friends. The four underdogs find themselves putting aside their original dreams and compromising in order to make a living. While the four friends hit rock bottom, they reevaluate their lives and decide to pursue what makes them happy.

 

My Mister

My Mister  features many characters dealing with the weight of their world on their shoulders. Each character has different but relatable issues. The most burdened of them is Lee Ji-an (IU), who fends off loan sharks while working to pay off debt and taking care of her grandmother. Also, things aren’t so peachy for Park Dong-hoon (Lee Sun-kyun), whose wife is having an affair with the CEO of Dong-hoon’s company. Despite the heaviness of their adversity, Ji-an and Dong-hoon form an unlikely friendship and help each other overcome their problems.

 

Wok of Love

Wok of Love’s three main characters are down on their luck, but find community and success as they band together. Seo Pung (Jun-ho) is a star chef at a Chinese restaurant in a top-notch hotel who loses his job due to a conspiracy. Similarly, Dan Sae-wu (Jung Ryeo-won) becomes a bankrupt heiress on what was supposed to be the happiest day of her life. Du Chil-seong (Jang Hyuk) is a former gangster who is trying to turn over a new leaf and runs a failing Chinese restaurant with his loyal crew. The trio turn their lives around as they learn how to work and cook together. 

 

Itaewon Class

Itaewon Class tells the ultimate underdog story of Park Sae-ro-yi who gets expelled from school, loses his father, and becomes an ex-convict. While he is oppressed by the CEO of Jangga Group, Sae-ro-yi resolves to become successful and beat the food conglomerate. Despite being greatly wronged in life, Sae-ro-yi is warm-hearted and inspires the people around him. His passion in growing his business will move your heart as you see Sae-ro-yi steadfastly overcome great obstacles.
