Ways to Get Close and Personal to Your Idols
Language barrier doesn’t stop K-pop to cross the border and becoming a global phenomenon. Unfortunately, International fans especially, doesn’t get much chance to see their idols in real life, hence, they tried as much as possible ways to reach out and show the love of their favorite ones.
Here are few ways to bring you a step closer to your favorite K-Pop idols, virtually at least.
1. Learn Korean language and Korean culture
No doubt, so many idols can speak fluent English these days. But if you want to get closer to your favorite idols, learn their language and culture is a must! This way you can be more familiar and understanding in many situations, without relying on the subtitles and translators. Sometimes, you can avoid misleading or mistranslation too, which happened quite frequently. Oh well, of course you can communicate with your oppa freely when you meet him in real life too!^^ There also many advantages learning a new language and culture, right?
2. Interact with their social media
Social media is another way to get closer to your idols. Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and TikTok are among the top social media where idols frequently updates their daily life. It was the fastest way to engage with favorite artists to date.
3. Attend online concert and fan sign
Chances to attend a concert or fan sign for international fans is already low even before the pandemic. With Covid-19 hitting globally, most of the countries closed their borders with no sign to open it very soon. But fret not, with current technology and all, you can attend the concert and fan sign virtually. Korean entertainment is trying to push this new norm in promoting their artists by providing the best technology to increase user experiences!
4. Subscribe to their news and updates
Don’t forget to subscribe to your favorite idol news and updates. Living far away from them, doesn’t mean you won’t hear any news about them. There are so many news sites or apps available in the market which you can subscribe to receive news. Our favorite is theQoos, an application that pulls K-Pop content from thousands of sources into one simple to use application. Instead of surfing multiple social media applications and other news sources, users are able to follow their chosen artists and get a single, catered feed. Read more here!
