Joseon Exorcist : The era of supernatural power and treacherous subjects

Joseon Exorcist is a 16-episode historical fantasy starring Jang Dong-yoon (Search, The Tale of Nokdu, School 2017), Park Sung-hoon (Into The Ring, Psychopath Diary, Justice) and Kam Woo-sung (The Wind Blows, Should We Kiss First). This is a drama that depicts the battle between an evil spirit who desires to dominate Joseon and those who are determined to protect their people.

Lee Bang-won, also known as King Taejong (Kam Woo-sung), is a powerful king. While he was still a prince, he once sealed away an evil spirit that wanted to dominate human beings. Years later, the evil spirit resurrects itself in Joseon, and King Taejong must fight it again.

King Taejong has two sons – The Crown Prince, Yangnyeong (Park Sung-hoon), and Prince Chungnyeong (Jang Dong-yoon). Prince Chungnyeong was dedicated to academics, until the time came when he must stand up to protect the people from the evil spirits. Crown Prince Yangnyeong (Park Sung-hoon) appears confident, but is constantly anxious about being recognized by his father. Consumed by greed and desire for power, the Crown Prince enters a contract with the evil spirit.

Joseon Exorcist goes beyond the physical aspect to explore the psychological and religious aspects of being possessed, and sets itself apart from other zombie or vampire dramas, by focusing on the concept of human bodies being controlled by evil spirits. Audiences can also look forward to a horrific yet visually stunning experience with the realistic portrayal of monstrous creatures.

Jang Dong-yoon is a rising star who has received praise for his convincing acting. His realistic transformation into a man who disguises as a woman in the popular historical romance drama Nokdu Flower has won the hearts of the audience, and viewers are looking forward to his performance in the fantasy genre. Viewers can also look forward to skilful acting from other members of the star-studded cast, including Park Sung-hoon, Kam Woo-sung, Lee Yu-bi, Jung Hye-sung, Kim Dong-jun, Seo Young-hee and more.

Joseon Exorcist is helmed by Director Shin Kyung-soo (Nokdu Flower, Six Flying Dragons) and penned by Screenwriter Park Gye-ok (Mr. Queen, Doctor Prisoner).
