New Teaser for JIRISAN Reveals On-Screen Chemistry between Gianna Jun and Ju Ji-hoon

The trailer also hints at the suspense of the iQiyi Original K-series, which is set to premiere on Oct 23rd

iQiyi today released the latest teaser trailer for its upcoming Original K-series Jirisan, starring Gianna Jun and Ju Ji-hoon. Jun and Ju play as park rangers in the series, and this latest trailer shows off their on-screen chemistry to the excitement of fans worldwide.

In the latest teaser clip, Ju is seen holding Jun’s hand, prompting her to ask him what the matter is. Ju replies with a smile: “Shall we set off together? Or did you help me up thinking I got tired?” As Jun looks quizzically at Ju, he raises her hand slightly, saying, “Or is it this?”. As if to remark on this playful gesture, Jun is later shown saying that Ju is “just a bit weird”. The pair also appear as if they are wearing matching couple outfits, as both are clad in park ranger jackets. The scene indicates the production team’s intention for the characters, as it shows the ambiguity and anxiety of a couple just before embarking on a relationship.

This sweet moment however, soon gives way to more ominous visuals: sweeping shots of a dimly lit forest, climbers being attacked, with their blood dripping on white snow, and a mysterious hooded figure walking through the forest. As with previous teasers and posters, these images point to the unspeakable secrets hidden in Jirisan mountain. Jun’s closing off-screen words, “The culprit is someone else” hints at the twists and suspense the series has in store for audiences.

Created by director Lee Eung-bok (Descendants of The Sun, Guardian: The Lonely and Great God) and writer Kim Eun-hee (Signal, Kingdom), Jirisan follows an experienced park ranger (Gianna Jun) and her rookie colleague (Ju Ji-Hoon) as they unveil the secrets of Jirisan mountain. Jirisan will see its exlcusive global premiere, in a simulcast with Korea, on October 23 on the iQiyi International app and iQ.com.
