[Press Conference] iQIYI Presents Bad and Crazy with Lee Dong Wook, Wi Ha Joon, Han Ji Eun and Cha Hak Yeon at Global Press Conference
Ahead of the premiere on iQiyi, iQiyi International held a virtual press conference for the upcoming drama Bad and Crazy. Attended by the casts, which includes Lee Dong Wook, Wi Ha Joon, Han Ji Eun, and Cha Hak Yeon – shared details on their latest roles.

The Background of Bad and Crazy
Lee Dong Wook plays Ryu Su Yeol, a police officer who is good at his job but with questionable conducts. Wi Ha Joon plays K, a righteous and crazy person. Hui Gyeom, played by Han Ji Eun is a fearless police lieutenant on the drug squad while Cha Hak Yeon is the kind and courageous junior police officer who will not think twice in tough situations.

Characters and challenges
During the press conference, the casts were asked about their characters and challenges – Lee mentioned that it brings out a side of him that viewers has never seen. While director You Soon Dong gave him free reign to express his character, he discussed a lot with the director in order to understand the character well.

Lee further added that he was impressed with Wi as the latter worked hard and volunteered to do most of his action scenes on his own. Wi responds that Lee was a natural, thus no extra practice was needed. Han Ji Eun on the other hand said, “I had to put in a lot of effort to run away from my previous cute character. I refrain from doing adlibs, and stick to the script.”

For Cha Hak Yeon, he shared that a challenge for him was to cut his hair short. “After military service, I kept my hair longer than usual, but I had to cut it short for this character.” He also added that he studied police officers to get into his character. “I studied the officers movements and ask them questions to better understand my role.”

When talking about their preparations, “I trained a lot for this role – as my character is funnier than my previous roles, I watched a lot of funny movies, and make jokes on set, to stay in character” said Wi.
Lee jokingly added that he did not have to prepare much, but the hardest thing for him to do was to overcome his laziness of moving from one set to another after an exhausting action scene, especially as the shoot was during the blazing hot summer.

‘Bromance‘ between Lee Dong Wook & Wi Ha Joon
Talking about their chemistry, Wi agreed that the ‘bromance’ between him and Lee is strong, and should be greatly anticipated by viewers. “Although our characters could not stand each other at the start, they progress on to working well with each other.”
There’s Bad then there’s Crazy
Going along with the theme of being ‘Bad and Crazy’, the casts are set to showcase the “bad” and “crazy” sides of themselves. When asked about the craziest thing that they have done, at first, Lee said “I have never” but then remembered and shared that he’s a super football fan and have stayed awake watching live matches of the European football. “I was the most tired during the World Cup. There were even times when I fell asleep holding the remote control” laughed Lee.
Wi revealed that he was obsessed with mix martial arts and it helped with his character. Meanwhile, Han confessed to being a foodie, always checking on viral meals and would eat before going to bed no matter how exhausted she felt.
