New girl group XG gears up for their much-awaited upcoming debut
In recently released videos, the seven members showcase multiple individual talents
On Friday (11th), the new girl group XG released a cover of Justin Bieber’s ‘Peaches’, also featuring Daniel Caesar and Giveon. The voices from Chisa and Juria blended together to bring new colors to the hit song on an exclusive performance. The video was released on XG’s official YouTube channel and is part of a series of exclusive contents that introduce the girls’ excellent abilities to the fans.
XG consists of seven members: Jurin, Chisa, Cocona, Hinata, Maya, Juria, and Harvey. They are part of the XGALX project, which started in January and whose details will be revealed in the following weeks. Since the beginning of the year, the group has revealed its official social media accounts, an introduction teaser, and different videos of dance, singing, and rap covers. The performances show a general view of the artists and have gathered the attention of thousands of fans who already follow them even before the debut.
The first dance performance released by the septet was a cover of O.T Genasis’s ‘Everybody Mad’, which already has surpassed over 1.4 million views on XG’s official YouTube channel. The famous and celebrated dancer Hyojin Choi, who was recently in the Korean TV show Street Woman Fighter, directed the performance. The choreography chosen for the video was by Sienna Lalau, who has previously worked with big KPOP artists such as BTS and BLACKPINK.
The seven girls bring different dance styles, like tutting and other classic hip-hop moves, in choreographies by May J Lee, part of the popular 1MILLION dance studio. The group also gave original highly-skilled performances to songs like Billie Eilish’s ‘everything i wanted’ and Ariana Grande’s ‘Be Alright’.
Still in February, XG’s rappers Jurin and Harvey showed their talent by giving their own flow for a cover of Rob $tone’s ‘Chill Bill’. The remix has received a lot of attention from international fans, who were charmed by the charisma and girl power concept that the group exudes.
The celebrated releases even before their official debut are a great example of how the girls’ talents have gathered millions of netizens worldwide, with energetic and even enigmatic performances of great hits.
