SEEN Festival at Axiata Arena Bukit Jalil featured local group DOLLA, all girl group ALICE, co-ed group KARD, NCT units – NCT DREAM and WayV, last Saturday to a crowd of more than 5000 K-pop fans. Even with another concert happening next door, much more people than usual around the stadium, the K-pop fans were not drown out. Fans were seen in beautiful colors representing their fan clubs, along with their idols’ lightsticks.
The show started at 6pm, with DOLLA as the opening performer. With the introduction from their male dancers, DOLLA then performed Impikan, Bad and DOLLA Make You Wanna. The group also shared a snippet of their upcoming song Look At This, before bidding the fans goodbye.
Main performance started with ALICE, who opened with Jackpot. Making their debut performance in Malaysia, the group said that they are happy to be able to meet the fans in Malaysia. They also mentioned that as the weather in South Korea is really cold right now, it’s great to be in a warm climate country for a while. The group also performed No Big Deal, Power Of Love, Summer Dream, This Is Me and Dance On.
KARD, a group that is no stranger to Malaysia, performed next, with chart topping hits – Ring The Alarm and Oh NaNa as the opening. The group then greeted the fans and J.Seph said that he is really happy to be back performing and meeting fans again, after being discharged from mandatory National service. They then continued performing new songs from their new album Re: – Whip! and Good Love before So Min noticed a fan holding up a banner asking B.M to twerk. B.M shyly said he will twerk later in the performance but unfortunately forgets but he apologised to the fan via Twitter. The group also performed Bomb Bomb and Dumb Litty before giving way to WayV.
Performing for the first time in Malaysia, WayV’s fan screamed when the screen shows that the group is up next. When WayV showed up on stage, the scream was deafening and fans can be heard singing along to each and every song. WayV opened their performance with Love Talk (English version) and Diamonds Only. During one of the ments, the group mentioned that they would be staying in Malaysia for an extra day and see the sights, and judging by their “many” updates on their social media, it seems that they enjoyed playing tourists in Malaysia. The group also performed Broken Love, and Let Me Love You before closing their performance with their latest hit, Phantom.
The closing performance for the night was none other than, NCT DREAM. Opening their performance with the fan favourite Hot Sauce (who doesn’t love this song?), with an even louder scream from the fans, singing and chanting along to the songs. The group then greeted the fans with “Apa khabar” and “It’s nice to be back in Malaysia”. Only 5 members came for the show this time (Mark & Haechan is currently busy with another NCT unit promotions) but the group promised that they will be back in Malaysia for a full concert (scream!!) with 7 members (double scream!!!). Continuing their performance with Beatbox, Glitch Mode and Hello Future, the group also sang along a birthday song with the fans for Jisung, who is celebrating his birthday in early February. The group also performed Candy, before saying goodbye to their fans.
It was an electrifying night at the SEEN Festival and I’m sure it has made many fans happy and counting days, until they can see their favourites again. We would like to thank CM Live for the invitation.
