KPOP LUX Makes A Super Concert At O2 Arena In London!

KPOP LUX SETS SIGHTS ON LONDON WITH NEW SUPER CONCERT

KPOP LUX x SBS Super Concert hits The O2 on 22 – 23 September, celebrating 140 years of diplomatic relations between South Korea and the UK

K-Pop continues its global domination this September in the form of KPOP LUX x SBS Super Concert in London, offering UK fans the chance to see 10 of the hottest K-Pop acts currently on the scene. The concert will also serve as a celebration of 140 years of diplomatic ties between South Korea and the United Kingdom.

KPOP LUX will take over London’s 15,000-capacity O2 Arena for two newly condensed days, with ITZY, THE BOYZ, ZEROBASEONE, WEi, xikers and one more girl group – to be revealed soon – kicking off on Friday 22 September.

Saturday 23 September sees TOMORROW X TOGETHER’s highly anticipated, first-ever UK performance, along with a second set from ITZY. The day is rounded out by ONEUS, YENA and Billlie, and another appearance from xikers.

Along with unforgettable performances the likes of which only K-Pop can deliver, artists will engage in audience interactions and experiences in between songs to bring K-Pop’s ‘fan meeting’ elements into the festival. Fans can commemorate the day with the chance to purchase exclusive merchandise available only at KPOP LUX London.

Day tickets, weekend passes, and VIP tickets are on sale now via the O2 website and Ticketmaster.

TOMORROW X TOGETHER are a five-member boy group which debuted in 2019 to huge fanfare, as the first group from Big Hit Music following the ascension of worldwide superstar group BTS. Since then, TOMORROW X TOGETHER have surpassed those ambitious expectations: all seven of their albums have charted on the Billboard 200, with their latest effort The Name Chapter: TEMPTATION (2023) debuting at No.1.

Five-piece girl group ITZY also landed in 2019 and set the tone for the next generation of K-Pop girl groups. Their debut single Dalla Dalla (2019) was the best-performing girl group track of the year in South Korea by any metric, earning them their first Platinum certification within nine months.

THE BOYZ are an onstage powerhouse, consisting of 11 members and a range of performance styles that allow the boy group to effortlessly portray a range of musical genres and visual concepts. After their successful show at London’s OVO Arena Wembley in 2022, they’re returning to a bigger stage and what’s sure to be a bigger crowd, following the exponential growth of their popularity over the last year.

WEi debuted in 2020 and immediately earned their spot as one of K-Pop’s vocal powerhouses. The six members have wielded their vocal range across a variety of concepts, with their most recent release, Love Pt.3 : Eternally (2023) taking the pop-dance route just in time for summer.

Billlie won the hearts of fans with their captivating performances and stage presence, which were polished and professional from the start. There was no adjustment period for the seven girls of Billlie – their stage presence is simply unmatched, and will feel right at home on stage at London’s O2 Arena.

Yena’s K-Pop beginning was in super-girl group IZ*ONE, which was the first K-Pop girl group to ever reach 300,000 first-week sales. The group came to a natural end, but there’s no end in sight for Yena, as she continues to break her own sales records with each release.

Five-member boy group ONEUS are often called ‘concept chameleons’ – they suit just about any style, from dreamy ballads to powerhouse performances with theatrical choreography. They’ve tried it all, and often come back to traditional Korean instruments and sonics, which makes them one of Korea’s national prides for spreading Korean culture around the world.

xikers debuted earlier this year under KQ Entertainment, the label behind the UK-charting group ATEEZ. Named ‘super-rookies’ by NME, the 10-member boy group has already charmed fans with a fresh, charismatic energy.

ZEROBASEONE, despite a debut as recent as July 2023, are already making a name for themselves in K-Pop. The nine members were selected via fan vote from 90 contestants on Mnet’s reality competition Boys Planet (2023), and their fans show no signs of slowing down their support – the boy group’s first album YOUTH IN THE SHADE (2023) surpassed one million pre-orders, more than any other debut album in the history of K-Pop.

K-Pop, or Korean popular music, is one of the fastest-growing music genres globally, with the UK specifically seeing a 300% increase in listenership over the last three years. Once considered a niche genre, K-Pop artists are now comfortably sat alongside UK contemporaries, as seen with boy group ATEEZ’s latest album landing at No. 10 in the UK’s Official Charts; Fifty Fifty earning the title earlier this year of longest-running K-Pop girl group on the UK Singles Chart; and BTS’ Jung Kook making K-Pop history with his No.3 UK Singles Chart success for Seven (2023).

As the demand for K-Pop increases, so do its festivals, concerts and tours, making the music and artists more accessible to UK fans than ever before.
