HWASA Releases New Single, I Love My Body

Stream I Love My Body

After two years since her last solo release, HWASA is back with her new single-album, I Love My Body. This also marks her first release since joining P NATION in June 2023, led by PSY, the K-pop artist behind viral hits “Gangnam Style,” “Gentlemen,” “DADDY,” and “That That.”

“It’s been a very long time. It seems like I cannot even remember what thoughts have been blocking me until now. One thing is certain, that I am truly happy and thankful.” – HWASA, on making a solo comeback after almost two years

The title track, “I Love My Body,” encourages listeners to embrace every part of themselves, both the beautiful and strange parts. It touches upon how critical society can be about physical appearances and how we are expected to meet those expectations in order to be considered “beautiful” in their eyes. The song, however, celebrates all ages and looks and wants everyone to love themselves for who they truly are.

HWASA is a South Korean singer and rapper newly signed to P NATION. She is also a member of the world-famous girl group MAMAMOO, where she debuted as a K-pop idol in 2014. Along with her group activities, HWASA debuted as a solo artist in 2019 with the single TWIT. And in the following year (2020), she released her first solo mini album, Maria, which follows the name of the title track and became the first Korean female soloist to hit number one on the iTunes US Album Chart. It also reached #1 on the iTunes Album Chart in 22 countries and #1 on the iTunes Song Chart in nine countries. In addition, Maria reached over 1 million streams and received a platinum accreditation mark from Gaon Charts. HWASA has received the Artist of the Year Award at the Golden Disk Awards (2019) as well as the  Song of the Year (Overseas) at the 2020 Asian Pop Music Awards.
