KID PHENOMENON from EXILE TRIBE, the seven-member Japanese dance and vocal group representing Tokyo’s next-generation “TOKYO NEO POP” culture, releases its new single “I’m Still Breathing,” a song created for the television anime “Mission: Yozakura Family.” The mid-tempo track captures a compelling tension between strength and loneliness, reflecting the determination of the anime’s protagonist, Taiyo Asano, who refuses to give up even in the face of adversity.

Rooted in perseverance, “I’m Still Breathing” pairs an emotionally resonant sound with the unwavering resolve at the heart of “Mission: Yozakura Family.” A preview of the song was first unveiled in a promotional video shared through the anime’s official YouTube channel, alongside a portion of the opening theme “Forever Song” by Humbreaders.

The release also builds on KID PHENOMENON’s growing connection to anime music. Its tracklist includes “Existence,” previously featured as the second ending theme for “Rurouni Kenshin: Meiji Swordsman Romantic Story,” and “Black Flame,” the opening theme for “The Dark History of the Reincarnated Villainess.” For the first time, the group also takes on a cover of an iconic Japanese anime theme song, marking another creative milestone in their evolving catalog.

Since making their major debut in August 2023, KID PHENOMENON has established a strong presence in Japan while expanding internationally. Their second single, “Existence,” reached No. 1 on Spotify’s weekly Viral Chart for two consecutive weeks, and their releases have consistently placed in the Top 5 of Oricon’s weekly charts. Following their first overseas performance on Vietnam’s “Tân Binh Toàn Năng (Show It All Vietnam)” in 2025, the group appeared at SXSW 2026 in Austin, Texas, in March and performed at Music Matters Live 2026 in Singapore earlier this month, bringing their distinctive performance style to audiences beyond Japan.

Directed by Keisuke Nakashima, known for his work with Mrs. GREEN APPLE, Travis Japan, and LIL LEAGUE, the music video contrasts beautiful natural landscapes with sleek, minimalist spaces to explore the complexity of human emotions. Through the coexistence of hope and uncertainty, the visual ultimately celebrates the many layers of what it means to be human.
