[Event Coverage] Park Jihoon Lights Up Kuala Lumpur In A Dazzling Display of Charisma & Talent

The Wink Boy returned, and he’s all grown up! Park Jihoon brought his highly anticipated RE:FLECT Asia Fanconcert to Kuala Lumpur’s Plenary Hall in KLCC, and Malaysian MAYs were ready to celebrate his triumphant return to the stage.

As the lights dimmed in the hall, Jihoon appeared and opened the night with a fierce, high-energy sequence, performing “Blank Effect,” “Serious,” and the pulsating “GOTCHA.” These tracks immediately showcased his razor-sharp dance moves and undeniable charisma, proving he hasn’t lost a beat.

“Saya sangat gembira jumpa semua hari ini!” (I’m so happy to meet all of you today!), said Jihoon as soon as he manage to catch his breath. The fanconcert then became a segment between fan and idol as Jihoon transformed into “Prince Jihoon” and MAY (Jihoon’s Fandom) became princesses awaiting to be rescued.  A series of games were played and it brought Jihoon closer to his fans.

In one of his missions, Jihoon were asked to do a series of aegyo (cute poses) which includes his famous “내 마음속에 저장” (“Save it in my heart”), capturing more hearts in a second.

The performance continued and Jihoon’s versatility was on full display throughout the night. He smoothly transitioned into the sophisticated, groovy rhythms of “Bodyelse” and the artistic, flowing melodies of “Watercolor.” The energy hit a fever pitch with the intense, hard-hitting beats of “NITRO” and “MATADOR,” tracks that demand total focus and shows off his powerhouse stage presence.

He didn’t forget the classics, sending the crowd into a frenzy with the fan-favorite “360.” Following the high-intensity sets, the concert took a soulful turn with the emotive, atmospheric “Dawn Moon” (새벽달) and the heartbreakingly beautiful “I can’t hold your hand anymore” letting his vocal prowess take center stage.

The interaction segment was a highlight, with Jihoon charming the crowd with his wit and heart—proving that despite his recent massive success in the blockbuster The King’s Warden, he is still the same humble, fun-loving artist his fans adore.

As the night approached its final chapter, the energy surged once more for the encore. The crowd erupted as he delivered the uplifting “I Wonder” and the anthemic, high-energy “Mayday”. As soon as the song ends, the crowd started chanting “한번더” (“One more time”), and Jihoon asked, “Mayday one more time? OK let’s go!” and started belting the fan favorite song again. It was a perfect ending to a night that perfectly bridged his past as a K-pop icon and his present as a multi-talented superstar.

Jihoon disappeared backstage and showed up once again for a “Hi-bye” session with the fans. With 10 years of being a performer under his belt, he managed to change poses seamlessly according to each of his fans, proving once again that he is a master of his cract.

Park Jihoon is a versatile performer. Whether it’s hard-hitting choreography or delicate, emotional ballads, he commands the stage with an ease that only true stars possess. Malaysia can’t wait for his next chapter!

We would like to thank KGH and YKS Management for the invitation.
