Korean beauty products are gaining a lot of fans these days, thanks to the famous celebrities endorsements and product placement in Korean dramas. Specifically in the Malaysia, a lot of Korean beauty products are being launched lately, proving Malaysia as one of the biggest market for these products.
Laneige is one of the Korean beauty brands that are known to have a huge loyal fanbase in Malaysia. With the hit drama of ‘Descendants of the Sun’ and ‘Cheese in the Trap’ this year, Laneige scored it big with scouting Song Hye Kyo and Lee Sung Kyung as their product endorsers.
The Laneige Beauty Road event has made its way to Malaysia for the second time after its debut in 2015, bringing along more than just K-Beauty trends but more excitement with the appearance of the popular Korean celebrity, Lee Sung Kyung and the introduction of the new Laneige Water Bank.
Held at the Centre Court of Mid Valley Megamall, the Beauty Road is fun-filled with free giveaways, games, contest, cute water droplet mascots and a K-Beauty experience area where one can learn everything one needs to know about K-Beauty. The upgraded Water Bank Gel Cream and Water Bank Moisture Cream were also launched officially at the Laneige Beauty Road event.
The Water Bank series has been Laneige’s bestselling hydration series and this year, Laneige has upgraded its Water Bank with the infusion of Hydro Ion Mineral Water and Mosturising Biogene Technology. With the new reformulation, the Water Bank creams are able to offer 360 degrees mosturizing care, leaving the skin feeling plumped and well-mosturised with a proven 24-hour mosturizing effect.
Sold at only RM150 a jar, customers are also eligible to purchase the Water Bank Limited Edition Water Bottle at only RM10 of which 100% of the proceeds from the sale of the water bottle will be donated to the Waterful Sharing Campaign fund. Funds collected will be used to purchase two water filtration systems for Kampung Binjai, Pahang and Kampung Ulu Geruntum, Perak.
The Laneige Beauty Road 2016 event, featuring the Water Bank series is set to conquer 11 cities across the globe starting with Seoul (22nd – 24th April), Kuala Lumpur (2nd – 8th May) with other cities to follow including Singapore, Bangkok, Taipei, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Guangzhou, Beijing, Chengdu, and lastly Toronto in Canada. Lee Sung Kyung who is also Laneige’s model will be making appearances as well as sharing the latest K-Beauty trends and skincare tips with her fans during the global beauty tour.
Lee Sung Kyung was appointed the model for Laneige’s Two Tone Lip Bar in September 2015 last year and is currently also featured in the latest Water Bank commercial. Lee Sung Kyung began her acting career in 2014 with the drama series ‘It’s Okay, That’s Love’ after her modeling career in which she won the Lex Prize in the 17th Super Model Contest and Unix Hair New Style Prize in the 2nd Asia Pacific Super model contest. She garnered more recognition after starring in the hit drama ‘Cheese in the Trap’ as Baek In Ha.
