KCON 2017: AT&T Comes To KCON With Artist Meet and Greets

KCON USA, the world’s largest Korean culture convention and music festival, and new sponsor AT&T are immersing fans in all things Korean culture with KCON 2017 LA in Downtown Los Angeles. AT&T, which will have K-Pop dance themed integrated tech booth on site, is kicking off the week with three fan meet and greets during the convention – Aug. 18-20.

“K-Pop goes beyond just the Korean American community – it resonates with people around the globe. That’s why we chose to sponsor KCON 2017 – because we wanted to bring fans closer to music and entertainment they love,” said Leonardo Torréss, associate vice president, marketing management. “We launched #KCONYourWay to give everyone a chance to get closer to the unlimited entertainment they deserve.”

AT&T is giving K-Pop fans the chance to experience “KCON Your Way” with three fan meet and greets – two public and one private – with some the biggest names performing at KCON 2017 LA.

· SF9 Public Meet & Greet – Taking place at the AT&T Wiltern Store in the heart of Koreatown on Friday, Aug. 18 at 7pm.
· Cosmic Girls Public Meet & Greet – Taking place at the AT&T Booth at KCON on Saturday, Aug. 19 (time TBD).
· VIXX Private Meet & Greet – This private event will take place for a limited number of AT&T customers on a first come, first serve basis. Details on how to gain access will be available through the KCONUSA Facebook and Twitter accounts. The meet and greet will take place at KCON 2017 LA on Saturday, Aug. 19.

In addition, for fans who want to experience what it’s like to be one of their K-Pop idols, AT&T has created an integrated tech booth featuring an augmented reality (AR) experience zone that allows users to step inside a futuristic K-Pop music video set – with all users entered for a chance to win trendy giveaways. The area – open all three days of the convention – also lets fans perform dance covers of their favorite songs and take photos in a stunning “selca” (Korean word for “selfie”) zone, among other fun surprises.

Since its launch in 2012, KCON has grown exponentially to become the undisputed epicenter for all things Hallyu (a.k.a The Korean Wave). The expansive event, which now spans three days, takes place within the Staples Center, the Los Angeles Convention Center, and the surrounding entertainment district. In addition to two star-studded concerts, fans in attendance will experience more panels and workshops than ever before, with offerings on everything from K-beauty and K-food to e-sports and K-drama.
