88RISING ANNOUNCES FIRST EVER HEAD IN THE CLOUDS MUSIC & ARTS FESTIVAL WITH RICH BRIAN, JOJI, KEITH APE, ZION-T, HIGHER BROTHERS, AND MORE

Tickets are on sale now at https://88rising.com.

88rising – the pioneering music and media collective representing the most groundbreaking artists from Asia – have announced their inaugural Head In The Clouds Music and Arts Festival, taking place September 22, 2018, in Los Angeles at the Los Angeles State Historic Park. The festival’s all-star lineup will feature label giants Rich Brian, Joji, Keith Ape, Higher Brothers, NIKI and a host of special guests including South Korean R&B sensation Zion.T, buzzing Atlanta rapper Yung Bans, and L.A. hometown hero Dumbfoundead. The festival will also host the U.S. debut of incendiary Japanese rapper KOHH and the L.A. debut of LAFF TRAX, the new collaborative project between Toro Y Moi & Nosaj Thing. General admission and VIP tickets are now on sale here.

The daylong Head In The Clouds Music and Arts Festival is the ultimate live manifestation of 88rising’s mission in celebrating Asian talent and bridging East and West. With features in The New Yorker, Pitchfork, Forbes, Bloomberg, etc., 88rising have become the indisputable leaders of a new global music movement.

The festival will bring together artists from Indonesia (Rich Brian, NIKI), Japan (Joji, KOHH, Sen Morimoto), South Korea (Keith Ape, Zion.T), China (Higher Brothers), and the United States (Yung Bans, Yung Pinch, AUGUST 08) for a unique, unprecedented event in the Chinatown district in Los Angeles. The night will culminate in a one-of-a-kind supergroup performance with all 88rising members on-stage performing their biggest hits and collaborations.

“Having our own music festival in LA is a dream come true and something we have always worked toward. 88rising means ‘double happiness’ and that’s what we intend to bring to everyone who experiences this festival with us.” says 88rising founder and CEO, Sean Miyashiro.

The festival is the finale of a yearlong campaign, bookended by the release of the collective’s first collaborative LP, also titled Head In The Clouds. Representing five Asian countries, the 88rising crew gathered in Los Angeles to record for two and a half months, creating a chemistry that can be felt on the album. The LP also features friends 03 Greedo, Playboi Carti, Yung Bans, BlocBoy JB, Famous Dex among many others.

Lead single “Midsummer Madness” by Joji, Rich Brian, Higher Brothers, and AUGUST 08 encapsulates the album’s collaborative mindset and is a surefire summertime anthem. The single quickly reached #1 on the Spotify Global and United States Viral 50 charts, was performed live on TRL, and even championed by K-Pop titans BTS.

If you can’t catch the Head In The Clouds festival in L.A., you might be able to see them on their upcoming 16-city tour kicking off September 28 in Philadelphia, PA and making stops in Toronto, New York, Chicago, Atlanta, and more before wrapping October 31 in San Francisco, CA.
