The World’s Largest Online K-Culture Festival ‘KCON:TACT3’ Wraps Up with Fans From 147 Countries Around the World
K-Pop Fans and Artists Experienced New Technology Through the “World Tour” Concept
KCON:TACT3 wrapped up the 9-day event with over 4 million K-Culture fans from 147 countries tuning in to the festival. Fans all over the world tuned in via YouTube, AIS, gigafest, etc. to watch more than 21 hours of the best K-pop stages.
CJ ENM has been hosting KCON in the US, Mexico, Europe, Middle East and Australia since 2012, and has gathered 1.1M audience members across the 24 in-person KCON events over the past 8 years. Last year, they launched KCON:TACT, the digital KCON in June, 2020 and provided new experiences for the fans during the two KCON:TACT events in June and October. 26 artists/groups participated in ‘KCON:TACT3’ and met their global fans via virtual Meet&Greets.
KCON:TACT brought back its signature innovative technology, using AR and XR technology to create an immersive experience for fans to experience the new ‘World Tour’ concept. Technology was used to recreate previous KCON venues and stages, letting fans experience going on a trip with their favorite artists at the comfort of their own homes.
A total of 26 artists including AB6IX, A.C.E, ATEEZ, BTOB, Dreamcatcher, ENHYPEN, EVERGLOW, HA SUNG WOON, HyunA, iKON, ITZY, Jessi, JO1, KANG DANIEL, Lee Jin Hyuk, LOONA, MAMAMOO, OH MY GIRL, P1Harmony, SF9, Stray Kids, SUNMI, THE BOYZ, TOMORROW X TOGETHER, TO1, WOODZ showcased a one of a kind performance and met global fans on stage and through Meet & Greet sessions. Popular programs were held in a variety of different time zones and languages so fans all over the world can participate live, including influencer programs created for fans in the US and Japan.
