I have Not Done My Best: I’ll give it my best… Tomorrow.

I have Not Done My Best is a 12-episode drama starring Park Hae-joon (The World of the Married, Arthdal Chronicles, My Mister), Kim Kap-soo (Jirisan, Sweet Home, Hospital Playlist, Mr. Sunshine), Park Jung-yeon (Kingmaker: The Change of Destiny, Hi Bye, Mama!) and Park Ji-young (The Red Sleeve, When I Was Most Beautiful, VIP, Doctor Detective). The comical story of a 44 year-old man who voluntarily quits his job and decides to chase his dream of becoming a webtoon artist.

Based on the original Japanese graphic novel “ORE WA MADA HONKI DASHITENAI DAKE” by Shunju AONO, this is the story of Nam Geum-pil (Park Hae-joon) – a man in his forties who one day decides to quit his job. Nam Geum-pil was a white-collar worker who has worked in the same company for the past 10 years. He has once dreamt of becoming a musician, and now, the 44 year-old Nam Geum-pil has found what he wants to do in life. Determined to start afresh, he makes the rash decision of handing in his resignation. He receives criticism from his father, Nam Dong-jin (Kim Kap-soo), and daughter, Nam Sang-ah (Park Jung-yeon), whom he lives together with but quickly overcomes it. By chance, Geum-pil finds out that a neighbour who looks unemployed like himself, is in fact a webtoon artist who earns billions. He begins to believe – that he too has the ability to turn his ‘talent’ of daydreaming into art, and decides to become a comic artist. Without an income and any savings, he starts working part-time at a fast food restaurant while chasing his dreams. Also living in the same apartment is Bong Yeonja (Park Ji-young), a spinster who views her property as her children, and is still waiting to meet the man of her dreams.

Park Hae-joon, who has left a lasting impression on viewers with his breakthrough role in the highly rated melodrama “The World of the Married”, will showcase a dramatic transformation with the role of Nam Geum-pil, who is immature and clumsy. Viewers will also find comfort in the comical yet relatable struggles of the main character who represents the adults of our generation that endure day-to-day workplace challenges.

I have Not Done My Best is helmed by Director Im Tae-woo, whose filmography includes dramas such as “Sketch” and “Steal Heart”, co-written by well-known screenwriters Park Heekwon from the movie “The Flu”, and Park Eun-yeong from the classic “Maundy Thursday”.
