[Event Coverage] SUHO SU:PERSTAR SHINE BRIGHT IN KUALA LUMPUR!

The chanting were deafening at Mega Star Arena and our EXO-L bunny superstar, Kim Junmyeon, aka SUHO was here for the “Falcon x SUHO Meet Your SU:perstar”.  The event on Friday evening was a rollercoaster of emotions. While seeing SUHO live is always a dream, and we’re grateful to the organizers for bringing him to our shores.

SUHO "feels like I've come home"

The event, which kicked off around 5:00 PM, promised an evening with our favourite leader. And SUHO? He delivered. After an opening song with his guitar SUHO sat down for an interview session. It was heart-warming to hear him say that being back at Mega Star Arena, where he held his “SU:Home” concert last year, felt like “coming back home.” Our hearts! He also gave us some juicy teasers, sharing that his upcoming new album will be a “culture shock” and a “surprise” for EXO-Ls. Plus, he mentioned wanting to have a fan meeting with all the EXO members – yes, please!

The fan interaction moments continue when the emcee pointed out about the EXO-L dress code and SUHO himself randomly picked a lucky EXO-L from the crowd. Then came the board filled with sticky notes from fans. While many turned out to be adorable confession notes rather than questions, SUHO handled them with his signature charm. One memorable note cheekily asked if he preferred coffee, tea, or “me (EXO-L).” Without missing a beat, Suho declared he’d give up both coffee and tea because he chooses EXO-L! So sweet. Another fan requested he sing “Don’t Go,” and “First Snow”, and like the angel he is, he obliged, his voice as stunning as ever.

A truly touching moment came during the audience photo session when a surprise fan project lit up the screens with birthday wishes for SUHO, complete with a cake. Visibly moved, SUHO made a wish that resonated with every EXO-L in the room: to have a concert with all the EXO members. We’re holding you to that, Junmyeon!

After the interview, SUHO treated us to more of his incredible vocals. And then, during “Alright Alright,” the moment that probably sent every security guard’s heart rate soaring: SUHO, wanting to get closer to Malaysian EXO-Ls, spontaneously came down from the stage and into the crowd! He later apologized for the unscripted adventure, but honestly, the sheer joy and excitement from fans who got an up-close glimpse of their idol was palpable. It was a chaotic, beautiful moment.

The most glaring issue was the event’s abrupt end. Scheduled to finish at 7:00 PM, the entire fan meet wrapped up by 6:25 PM. Leaving many feeling like the experience was cut unexpectedly.
Furthermore, the last-minute changes of fan benefits and the cancellation of the Hi-Bye session, cast a shadow over the excitement. For fans who had eagerly anticipated these moments, it was a tough pill to swallow. These interactions are precious, and to have them altered or removed so close to the event understandably caused frustration.

Despite the organizational shortcomings, SUHO himself was an absolute superstar. He poured his heart into his performances and interactions, making every minute he was on stage count. His professionalism and genuine affection for EXO-Ls shone through, and for that, we are incredibly thankful.

While we sincerely thank the organizers for the invitation and for bringing Suho to Kuala Lumpur – seeing him live is an experience we’ll cherish – we also have to voice the disappointment felt by many. SUHO gave his all, and the fans were ecstatic to see him. We just hope that for future events, the planning and execution will match the calibre of the artists and the passion of the fans, ensuring everyone leaves with nothing but happy memories of a full and well-managed experience.
