The movie ‘Dragon Blade‘ was a massive success earlier this year in China, and features an international cast led by Jackie Chan, John Cusack, Academy Award®-winner Adrien Brody and Super Junior‘s Choi Siwon!
‘Dragon Blade’ features the fight for the Silk Road when East and West collide. In the movie, Choi Siwon plays Yin Po, a military guard on the western frontier. When corrupt Roman leader Tiberius (Adrien Brody) arrives with a giant army to claim the Silk Road, Huo An (Jackie Chan) and his group of trained warriors teams up with an elite legion of defected Roman soldiers led by General Lucius (John Cusack) to maintain the delicate balance of power in the region.
To protect his country and his new friends, Huo An gathers the warriors of thirty-six ethnic nations together to fight Tiberius in an incredible epic battle. The film is directed by Daniel Lee (“Black Mask”) and produced by Jackie Chan and Susanna Tsang.

That’s not all because even if you are not a Super Junior fan, you don’t want to miss out on our exclusive interview with Choi Siwon on his role of Yin Po in the movie, as well working alongside big Hollywood names, as shared below!
1) Can you update us about your current/latest/upcoming project?
Currently I’m shooting a new Korean drama series “She Was Pretty”, which will air soon. Because it has been a while since I have done a Korean production, I am excited and hope you like it too.
2) Please tell us about your character in Dragon Blade movie.
The character ‘Yin Po’ may seem at first to be like a man so lost in his own ambitions that he betrays his own team. However, because he thinks that the minority may be sacrificed for the majority, and because he is very much his own man, he makes the decision (though it may have not been the right decision) to focus all his concentration to do what he thinks is correct.
3) What is your most memorable/favorite scene from the movie?
My most memorable scene will be the last scene when everyone united together to keep peace.
4) It seems like there are many action scenes in this movie, did you face any trouble / injury during filming?
In order to create a good action scene, I did some personal training beforehand and we – the casts – always rehearsed many times before the actual shooting. So thankfully there were no injuries.
5) How did you feel, working with an incredible cast, not just know in China, America but all over the world?
At first I could not believe that I was going to be in a film with all these famous actors, and I was very excited. It was an experience that I will remember for the rest of my life.
6) How is it working with Jackie Chan? How does his personality look like in real life?
To be able to work with Jackie Chan was a great honor and a valuable experience. He was very similar to what I imagined through his movies – he has a sense of humor but is also a very kind and warm person, and passionate about his work as well. There is a lot to learn from him both as an actor and as a human being.
7) You seem quite close to the cast and noticeably, Adrian Brody. What brought you two close and were things awkward in the beginning or you two hit it off straight away?
We became close during the movie shoot, and stayed close in touch even after the shoot. It was a bit awkward at first, I think, but the awkwardness didn’t last long as he came to me first and made me comfortable, and we became close pretty quick afterwards. He’s a wonderful guy who reaches out first.
8) How do you feel working alone without other Super Junior members?
Working without other Super Junior members builds a sense of responsibility within me. That’s way I try to keep myself a necessary tenseness and to do my best in movies or all other aspects.
9) As an actor, what kind of character do you wish to act in the future?
Personally, I like to stories that have a good twist which makes the piece more interesting. Although ‘Yin Po’ from ‘Dragon Blade’ was also a character that had a unexpected twist, I would like to try other characters with different kind of twists that will surprise the viewers in another way.
10) Lastly, please send a message to your fans.
Thank you so much for your constant and unchanging love and support. I will continue to try my best and return the love I have received.
We hope to see him soon in another Hollywood production! In case you are wondering where to watch this movie, you can check out the movie’s website (Lionsgate Premiere) here and you can watch the video on demand, or through iTunes. Happy watching!
